New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

That Klingon encounter ride was unique because it had an open top so you could see the imax screen. I assume there where other vehicles similar to the Simpsons ride. It was fun because they beamed you onto the Enterprise. You took a turbo lift to the bridge and then went to the shuttle. Cast members interacted with the ride and gave you a tour before getting you to actual ride kind of like Rise of the Resistance does. It was Galaxy's Edge done right.

I never rode the Borg encounter ride but they did have people chasing you as Borg.

Was this the one at the The Hilton? I should have checked it out when I had the chance. The early - mid 2000’s was my heyday in Vegas but I guess I had different priorities at that age haha.

I got to see it twice. It was amazing if you are a Trek fan.

The transporter effect was mind-blowing, and being on the bridge of the Ent-D was a dream come true. The Borg chasing you was frightening. Sadly that one ended up in a 4D theater, but the seats had a mechanism in it that pushed on your back when you were being probed by the Borg queen....kinda like the effects in Stitch encounter, but not in the dark.

I lost interest when Enterprise came out, even though many said it was good. I've seen all the new movies, but I've skipped all the shows after Voyager except Prodigy as it came out on Netflix and I thought it was good.

There is some truth in that. It's different, darker and stomps on classic trek. It's like another alternate timeline. I wasn't too keen on Picard season 2 when they made him Space Hitler. Season 3 was better but still had it's cring moments of Riker telling Picard that he "killed us all!"

I didn’t care for Discovery but Strange New Worlds is fantastic. I like it far more than DS9 and Enterprise. I’d put it on par with Voyager.

Lower Decks is also great, just a very different flavor of the world.

Yeah, I’m really enjoying Strange New Worlds. I was told not to bother with Discovery by multiple people, I might check out the Pike episodes.

I actually slept on new Trek because of the damage Disney did to Star Wars. I was pleasantly surprised how they rebounded with season 3 of Picard.

The only reason I'm watching Discovery is for the Strange New Worlds characters backstories like Pike and Spock. Michael is a terrible character along the lines of Rey. She slowly seems to be getting better and more humble. They seem to ignore most of the bridge crew on Discovery.

I personally think they are waiting to see the overall reaction to the complete redo of TDLs SM and surrounding area which just started construction.

But yeah add in a splash of the retro futurism from whatever they do with FF, and they could merge both concepts together plus have the IP tie-in.

Definitely could see it. I imagine a lot of similar interiors / IP’s / types of upgrades / attractions, but with retro futuristic facades.

@Henry Mystic also mentioned some attractions currently being developed themed to WALLE and Big Hero 6, but didn’t specify which land / park / coast / continent they were being made for. They could most definitely make sense for TL stuff.

It's supposedly to make up for the lack of Galaxy's Edge at Disney Adventure World now, and the lack of new attractions since 2006 at the Disneyland Parc. I don't mind Paris getting the Speederbike as an exclusive attraction, at least for a little while

Based on what I know about what you value, I imagine there's a zero percent chance you'd be happy with Tron at DL, especially with the corresponding effect on Tomorrowland and likely mass demoing of surrounding areas required to make it fit-the area, not necessarily the land.

Seeing as you're quite unhappy with the HM area changes, that change is small potatoes compared to what would be required to wedge Tron into the existing park.

The ride just isn't good enough to be worth all of that.

Oh yea I definitely don’t want it in Tomorrowland or Disneyland proper! I’ll take one in GE though or in a DL forward plot. When I imagine the Endor Speederbike coaster I imagine something like Hagrids although it may not be as grand depending on the location.

For new TL if it ever happens they need to either go Retro TL 67 or take some notes from Singapore. Cool architecture and huge buildings with the greenery incorporated into them. That I feel is just about as Utopian as we can expect from the future. They also have cool things like this…

I do have a good feeling that we'll get a new Tomorrowland before the 75th. Even if they don't announce a complete New Tomorrowland update until 2028, just the announcement of a new attraction could be the start of New Tomorrowland 3.0 This decade, we've had:

• New Tooontown - Announced 2021, completed by 2023
  • A new attraction (MMRR), new aesthetics and updated Goofy's & Donald's
• New New Orleans/Bayou Country - Announced 2022/3, completed by end of 2024
  • A new attraction (Tiana's), 2 restaurant refthemes, and aesthetic updates
