"A newly-recorded BGM loop consisting of synthesizer-arranged versions of '50s-era scifi tunes and familiar Tomorrowland standards (such as "If You Had Wings", "The Best Time Of Your Life" and "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow") was installed at the Magic Kingdom this past Friday, July 11. The new loop, recorded specifically for use at WDW, runs just shy of forty minutes."

Well, looks like Behind the Waterfall is now exclusive to Wonders of Life! :)

I say they need to record an industrial/gothic version of Great big beautiful tomorrow! :D ;)

Now you're talking! I'd need a CD of that! Maybe they could get Frontline Assembly to do it? :lol:

That is really cool news! I hope someone cna get at least a sample of this music for download....

How long have they had the old loop? How log do you suppose this one will stick around?

Oh, and has anyone heard the new music yet??

I feel stupid, but I can't think of what "BGM" stands for...

I love the way Disney does BGM for their parks. Although I am not a big fan of the caliope/circus sound the haave for the entry way to DCA. It kind of cheapens some of the Beach Boys tunes. IMHO

I have two versions (3 actually) of behind the waterfall, the first version is Anthony Phillips - Behind the Waterfall, the second is Disney - Behind the Waterfall (which is once again anthony phillips version) and I have Epcot Future World - Behind the Waterfall (which I presume is the David Lanz verion)....my question is which version is heard where?


Also I have to say I'm sad to see it go, but my friends will be happy that I no longer play 'guess that tune' and hum along when i'm in TL

Well the Anthony Phillips version is the one played on an acoustic piano, right? Not sure if I've ever heard that version actually played in the parks. The one in cycle at Wonders of Life is played on synthesizers and is definitely David Lanz w/ Paul Speer.
BTW, don't trust MP3 filenames on songs you download. To my knowledge there's only 2 actual "Behind the Waterfall" versions out there, and one other piano version that should segue into "Desert Rain".

I believe the old loop played from 1994-2003. It was good, but nothing beats instrumental scores to theme songs. Plus, the great loop, similar, at WOL is still playing. :)

I'll get a few SAMPLES next time I'm at Magic Kingdom (one month from now), but I don't have any equipment to make it more direct. Of course, there isn't any and no one has any of it...how could they? It's ridiculous that you would think I could own the music played at Tomorrowland...that's just...silly...

I really hope they threw in some "We've Come So Far," "Timekeeper," and "Dreamflight," too! :D

No need for me to read the thread...just by the thread title...I'm excited... So...what kind of loop is Space Mountain getting??? Cobra Roll? Corkscrew??? :hammer:

This is very interesting. Sounds like they're reverting back to a sound similar to the old "New Tomorrowland" loop.

Regarding Behind The Waterfall, is it not also played in the HISTK Adventure Zone? I know that that loop is almost exclusively Ray Lynch music, but I swear I heard Behind The Waterfall in there at some point.

Behind the Waterfall is STILL played at HISTK (or at least, last time I checked, it was ... :lookaroun ...). :)

Half the songs played in background music at Disney are songs I played in Jazz Band.

Lets see....

Jersey Bounce (near Tot)
Stomping at the savoy (near Tot)
Sing, Sing Sing (Disney quest I think)
Sentimental Journey (Space Mountain [where the cameras are on the exit])
Sister Sadie (I think I heard this in tommorowland but I am not sure)
Mood Indigo (tot courtyard I think)
