So I know that in the resorts you get shampoo and body wash and conditioner....and I think lotion. But I have never been on cruise before much less a Disney Cruise. What should I expect to bring as far as toiletries.Thank you for your help.:D

You'll get shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Plus soaps. It's good stuff! :)

There's a good thread around here with several packing lists. I'm pretty sure there's a link in the FAQ thread at the top of the cruise forum.

You also get the H2O Spa cooling gel for sunburn. That stuff works great! We actually bought a full tube on sale pre-cruise just in case. :animwink:

Ooh, I forgot that one. That comes in handy for us pale freckly people. :)

Amen! I bought stock in aloe before my cruise next week!

Yep. I feel ya!

Chandler got himself cooked pretty good on his face on our cruise. We fussed at him then buttered him up before bed with the solar gel. A friend told me the stuff worked miracles before we left. She was right! The next morning he was pretty much back to his neon white glory. :D

I'm glad to hear it worked so well! I got one of my worst sunburns ever while snorkeling on Castaway Cay. I put sunscreen on that morning but forgot to reapply (hubby did reapply and didn't remind me so it was probably his fault :D) and my back just cooked in the sun as it bobbed above the water for a couple of hours. I had blisters and everything.

They didn't have the solar relief at the time and I made hubby put lotion on my back every time we went anywhere near our room. That was both agonizing and wondrous.

The solar gel would've been a Godsend back in my teen years when I got sun poisoning. My mom brought the silvadene cream from the ER for me but the vinegar baths were the worst. Ugh! I seriously believe in the gel! And it smells nice!

Speaking of smells, the H2O Spa body butter (lotion) smells like heaven! It's a clean, crisp scent with a hint of salty something on the finish. I'm a super-picky person when it comes to the scent of anything I put on me. That lotion is full-on da-bomb! Whenever I smell it I think of the cruise!

now my question - how big are they? standard WDW Resort size? I'm debating on packing lotion/soap myself

I'm pretty sure they are bigger. If someone has done back to back cruise/WDW stay recently, they may remember better.

I will say that stateroom hosts are awesome about replacing them the second you are low. We had plenty at all times.

We were on the Dream in January and brought home a few items. The conditioner and body butter lotion I still have are 2 ounces each. I assume the shampoo was 2 ounces as well. My family just laughs at me for all of the toiletries (I call them souvenirs) I manage to bring home.

I do the SAME exact thing - I have bags of hotel samples in my bathroom

That's why I have full size ones around here. The store around here sells H2O skin care, but not shampoo. The shampoo and conditioner is what reminds me of the cruises. I need to get some more. On line seems to be the only place I can get it.

Now, what is this solar gel of which you speak? Three Disney cruises and I have never see (or heard) of this stuff.

I believe they are only in concierge on the Magic and Wonder, but some Dream verandah cabins have reported getting them too.

Ah,

i was just a "plain" verandah on the Magic both times.

However I had a verandah on the Dream in July and just had the "normal" stuff. :(
