It might be "weak"...but I've found just some places have better food than others...Paris and London...for instance.

I haven't been to France, but I have been to London multiple times. I can safely say their (traditional British) food is bland and leaves something to be desired. I've also been to China twice, Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand, Western Australia, Dubai, Ireland, Kuwait, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Amsterdam, Bahrain, UAE, and Canada. Each place ice tried local traditional food. Some good, some very bad. In many (most cases, except Italy) I'll take the American version of that particular country. That's the great thing about the States, we have more multiculturalism than any other country (which most people forget), which has allowed the best foods and recipes in the world to migrate here and be improved upon. Yes, I'm well aware that some pale in comparison, but by and far I'm always glad to come home from overseas and enjoy our take on world cuisine.

My belittling has limits...Tony's is an awful excuse for an Italian restaurant...that's not what it's supposed to taste like. It is what it is.

There you go, that is the most civil part of any of your statements so far.
As stated before it is presumptuous to say that someone's birth location places a limit on where they can travel to eat. And to belittle anyone's opinion is just that. And if someone's taste was somehow different because they were from the Midwest, that does not make them inferior. To repeat other opinions are inferior that in condescending ways and to treat others as you are is simply unacceptable.

Quidquid latine dictum sit altum videtur

...I find it odd that a somewhat self deprecating, tongue in cheek joke has gone this route. You need not convince me of the quality of your meal at Tony's...
...you would have to convince all those that have roundly bashed it for decades in forums such as these. Just look around.

It's often mentioned as the worst restaurant in wdw...maybe not the gold standard of Nine Dragons...but up there.

Happy eating 🙃

Not a single other person posted anything to multiple people with multiple posts(not just myself) that their opinion was superior to others. You stated you did not want to take culinary advice from someone who enjoys Papa Johns. To my knowledge on the recent postings, no one gave you advice. People were just sharing experiences.

Who would of thought, that a Theme Park Restaurant based on an animated film, with the stereotypical restaurant owner of an Americanized restaurant named Tony would be not authentically Italian. The rest is just a matter of taste. How authentic are the romanticized streets of a turn of the century town or Liberty Square?

I think they might be trying to fix the MK. Or at least give the illusion. Be Our Guest is going to a fixed prince dinner (whatever they call it) and Pinocchio's I believe is going to be offering a "buffet".
Definitely an illusion. The only thing they want to fix is the profit margin at BoG.

Plaza is the only table service we’ll consider at the MK and now they don’t take dinner reservations. Disney is clearly okay with letting the third party restaurants at DS provide the best food. At least they’re paying rent, right? 😏

Opinions vary...I don't think I ever discounted that...

By the way...original question: where ya from?

Agree about plaza...though I can appreciate crystal palace for what it is and skippers was ok when we went.

A buffet at Pinnochio's? That has to be a joke...is there a worse quickserve location? Honestly?

In fairness I have nothing against CP, just not a fan of buffets or fixed price meals. We didn’t have a good meal at Skippers but I would give it another chance. My wife on the other hand...probably not. 😉

It really is a shame that the world’s most visited theme park has so few good dining options. Either they don’t care because they’re filling tables anyway, or they want to push those willing to pay for good food out to the resorts on the lagoon. It really doesn’t have to be so bad.

We're spoiled because disney food has always been far better than amusement park...but they sure smack us into the nose
To pay for it, don't they??

Anyway...I think in the case of magic kingdom it's just "it's good enough"...I've had really good meals over the years at the other parks...but never honestly at magic kingdom...liberty tree lunch used to be decent...but they got rid of that menu long ago...

Food quality is down in the hotels too...it's not just a park thing. The "fantastic" California grill was very mediocre the last 2 times I went. It's off my list...I don't lay that kinda price for "view"

Worse quick service restaurant in general, or do you mean a worse fit for a buffet? It is definitely a bad location to put a buffet from a crowd control perspective.

But quality-wise, while Pinocchio is definitely not good, Cosmic Ray's is honestly the most vile restaurant at WDW in my opinion. Even McDonalds has considerably better food, which I already consider worthless basically inedible trash.

Plaza became my go-to my last few MK visits for a decent lunch. Really credible philly cheesesteak (I'm sure not like Pat's or Geno's or whatever, but quite tasty), but it's been a few years. Hopefully quality hasn't dropped. And I actually like the flatbread at the Village Haus and like the upstairs view of IASW.

Agree on the vileness of CR - and I eat some low rent, high-octane garbage. Even I cannot abide the counter service burgers. It wouldn't take a lot to do some sort of refresh on the standard issue burgers and fries and at least approach a decent value. And it seems like they could do better with the standard issue chicken nuggets too....try updating to something more along the lines of Chik Fila or preferably Cane's.

I could probably happily have Epcot fish and chips a couple times a week though, assuming they are hot and fresh (which they always have been in my experience other than a couple bad batches).

I think they're both vile...and abc commissary...and every other quickserve in studios...yuck

Oh my goodness a burger I had at Commissary has to be top 10 all time most bafflingly horrible meals I've ever had. 2 bites and into the trash. Love Sci-Fi Burgers though, whatever they do to them there needs to replicated elsewhere. Would much rather drop 25 bucks on that than 12 on whatever those gristly gritty counter service concoctions are.

I wish they would get rid of the “free” dining plan.

DDP Got people to accept upfront payments for food regardless of the quality...right to left ordering covered declines. It also stopped people from actually judging what they were buying...because it was paid long before.

Free dining...shielded large increases
To the base prices of hotels and food and covered it up with temporary coupons.

Look At the Rates At Port Orleans ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Both were simply horrible mistakes by consumers. Irreversible.
