New Star Wars Fireworks Show - 'Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular'

Does anyone know if "Symphony in the Stars" will continue until the new "Galactic Spectacular" starts? Right now the last Symphony in the Stars is scheduled for May 28th. Hollywood Studios is scheduled to close at 8:30 every night in June (not counting extra magic hours once a week) with Fantasmic every night at 9:00, but no mention of any fireworks. 8:30 seems pretty early to close during Summer.

The calendar was actually just updated. Looks like it's just Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday in June for the old show until the new one starts.

I've seen the current fireworks show several times because I think it's that good (I love being covered in fallout during a show - it means you're really IN the action!). .

yeah, talk about fallout! wow!... we watched the show last week and my son got some fallout in his eyes. It started to hurt, so we decided to go to first aid... boy, there was a line there with about 10 people...all with eye injuries due to the fireworks. They gave us some eye drops (they had a drawer full of it) and said to ringe the eyes. Luckily it passed quickly without any complications.

When is this show scheduled to be fully up and running? I thought the fireworks show was showing in a limited form but many effects - mainly the projections and firee effects - were not operational yet. Is that accurate?

Noticed on the DPB post it says "Nightly Showings, starting on June 17th." Everything yesterday lead me to believe this would only be on select nights. Can anyone confirm that it will in fact be shown every night starting on the 6/17?

EDIT: "
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular will be presented nightly starting summer 2016."

is on the website now as well. Maybe only the parties will be on certain nights.

I'm wondering how this is going to be ready in less than a month when the fireworks launch site across World Drive hasn't even gone vertical yet?

How much vertical does a fireworks launch site need to go? Someone posted a photo of the site on the disboards and they had fireworks supplies on site already.

I was under the impression they were creating actual buildings for storage and then launching from the rooftop of that structure. I can't imagine they would have fireworks anywhere near that area as it's still an active construction site.

There weren't fireworks on site but they had launching mechanisms onsite.

talk about giving the big middle finger to everyone going the first part of June - Frozen, Soarin', and this not opening until late June. If I had known this before I would have moved my dates

just think if they knew what they were doing and could have actually set real dates earlier this year to get more folks to book summer vacations at WDW

The previous show was set to be select nights (Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) until the new show debuted. But I'm guessing they didn't want another ROL situation and didn't want to announce a date they couldn't stick to, which is why they currently list the old show running through June even though they just announced that the new show will start on the 17th. I assume they'll update the calendar again soon so that the old show runs on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until June 17, and then the new show is every night from June 17 onwards.
