I don't think it's a joke. Besides George Lucas' good friend is Jewish. I think it was a joke fore star wars fans who know the fate of alderaan.

This most likely will take place before the Sith and Darth Vader took over the galaxy. It's during the events of the prequel hence the pod racing sequence we are supposed to get.


But also this is just a queue video for theming purposes. Not the actual ride.

I will be sorely disappointed if there isn't an attack on a Death Star sequence in the new version, and I was looking forward to the rumoured pod racing.

Is this going to be more like Soarin' the Galaxy than a real thrill ride?

I know the blog says these aren't the only destinations, but I'm just getting out ahead of the curve on this one.

This is prequel. :shrug:

I knew they were going to use elements from both series, but shouldn't the time line progress from the end of Jedi? We aren't travelling back in time. The events of the last three films have happened so they have to be taken into consideration. Unless they have Alderaan blowing up as the Star Tours shuttle leaves, that would be cool.

In the briefing at CV, they called Star Tours 2 a "game-changer". I hope that's true. We've been waiting for an upgrade for some time.

When I read that on the blog and in previous posts I thought they meant it take elements from both trilogies not that it actually was placed on the timeline between the trilogies.

I am concerned.

I guess at this point I'll just have to reserve judgement until I can ride it.
