Finally grabbed a picture of it.. it looks to me like its gonna stick around for a long time, like the old stage. At least the Tomorrowland countdown has a good focal point for their performances now...

Welcome to TWDC 2005!

Are you the same person who complained about peeling paint and other things in one of the D-Troops rule/suck threads?

So, they got rid of an old stage and put a new one in ... and they should have kept the old one? So by that logic, they should keep the old paint?

Anytime they update a stage or lights or speakers or anything of the sort is a good thing. Don't whine about it.

Nah.. that looks pretty temporary. Sorta like the stages set up for Grad nights and the ESPN weekend.
I guess since it looks so similar to the old stage that I thought that way. it even has that same ramp system in the back. Then again the top of the "canopy" is admittedly less permanent.

Yup - Galaxy Palace is now Magic Music day performances. I was on it back in January. It was pretty fun. The stage itself is small (for the pieces we had staged it was). I remember very clearly that the lights were amazing bright and flaming hot. The marly(sp?) floor that they had set down was also buring hot as well. Although our performance went well, all of us remembered the hell of being on that stage, it was crazy up there!

We also went down January 2004 to perform, and at that time - we were on the Tomorrowland Stage. I prefered it to the Galaxy Palace only because it was more comfortable to be on. Even though little childeren were able to see us do quick changes (horrible...seriously...), it was still more fun to be on.

This new stage looks to be nothing more than a temp. stage which will probably change given a few months or so.

That looks NOTHING like the old stage, and is very temporary

Actually, isn't that a smaller version of Test Track's canopy? LMAO.

But that is just a temp. setup. I just explained the whole thing in a post above.

I know the canopy is different.. but the stage layout looked similar to me.. but alas I have been served! :) Still.. anyone know why its there? Its not Night Of Joy or Grad Nite time. Magic Music days happens all the time.. so it's either going to stick around.. or there's something else going on.

Nope.. never complained about peeling paint.

I have complained about a lot of other things though.. and justifiabley so. But since this isn`t a moan thread, lets not take it any further here. BTW - Thrawn - your homepage is down, incase you didn`t know.

Back on topic... this stage does look very temporary. Strange though... it fits into Tomorrowland better than the last one. IMHO of course :animwink:

Looks bigger than the old one, but I can't compare pics, because I can't currently see photalbum pictures for some strange reason.

Looks temporary to me. Looks very similar to the covered stage set-up they had in front of the Sorceror's Hat at MGM for Sportscenter tapings at ESPN Weekend. It may be a little taller than that one, but the same basic design is there. Considering how it went up so fast, it probably can come down as fast. If it were permanent, there would have been more work involved to secure it that would have involved some period of construction walls. Considering how it just suddenly appeared almost overnight (probably a few days), its probably just for the Spring Break/Easter/Grad nite events over the next few months, if even for that long.
