My wife and I like the value resorts when we go over to Pleasure Island for a night. All we want to do there is get a quick shower, change our clothes and grab a bus over to Downtown Disney. The value resorts have been very good to us on these occasions. I, for one am looking forward to the opening of this resort. :sohappy:

This value resort against moderate/deluxe resorts is pretty much a no-win discussion.
Personally, if you have the money to stay at Contemporary, I say go for it! Me, I just love the values, and those pics of Roger, Lady and Mowgli and Baloo already put PC up there on my list. I mean, if it wasn't for value resorts, I'd have to save 3 times what I do to be able to visit WDW.

In my opinion, the Value Resorts are the best things WDW have added when it comes to getting people into the parks. I have stayed at the All-Star Movies and to be honest, I wasn't impressed but for a vacation that was planned last minute, WDW was an option, money wise, because of these resorts. I have also stayed at Old Key West, CBR, and Coronado Springs which totally blow the Value resorts out the window but they definitely get MORE people into the parks, which means that MORE attractions get built and the parks stay open longer...but it also means MORE WAITING IN LINES!!! (TGFF...Thank God For Fastpass)

I like this resort...I like the main sign and I think the lake, in itself, sets this resort a notch above the All-Stars...granted I could have thought of a better place to put the catch phrases, this is an all-star resort; the moderates and deluxe resorts are SUPPOSED to be better. Anyway, I just wish this resort would open.

I agree with you Tyler, but the stupid POP words degrade the resort. I might stay there to see what it is like but even with trees you still get the great sounds of cars and WDW Transportation rolling past your room.

I can't believe so many are knockin' the All-Stars! I'v eonly stayed on property once, and I stayed at All-Star Music. I thought it was great. I realize after I stay at a moderate, I'll realize that these are much nicer, but like said above, its just a place to stay for the night. Why pay twice as much when you can still get the magic at the All-Stars?

I actually dont think it looks that bad. It looks quite exciting.... You have to bare in mind that it is a value resort, and my guess is that the target audience is families with young children who can't afford the likes of a moderate or deluxe.

I will consider staying there!

P.S. Do we have any idea of an opening date?

I think it's for Disney to come up with a new variety of ideas for moderate resorts. All Stars Movies and Music were something new, Ok, it was something out of the ordinary and most important: cheap. Then, the movies....well, more of the same gigantic structures with endless walkways to the main house. Now, another one...What happened to the original ideas? Places around the world, zones, etc. Animal Kingdom Lodge was a great accomplishment, but when it comes to "moderate" the same redundant model of a resort goes round and round.

I think it looks ugly...not as well themed as the other value resorts......a big thumb downs to disney........but wow...3000 rooms......thats a lot!! I agree value resorts can be a big plus for people who don't spend much time in there resorts!!

I'm curious why you will stay at All-Stars instead of PC.

PC is much more centrally located than the AS. It seems that it will have a better bus system. (Only 1 resort compared to Sports, Music, Movies).

While PC is more centrally located (a definate plus), the amount of rooms of PC is approx the same as all 3 All Stars... So, as for a Better Bus System... *shrug* Hard to really say at this point... but at minimum, it will be on par with everything else.

If anyone really enjoys acid flashbacks, they'll be right at home in Pop Century. I'm sure someone will enjoy it, but it's not my bowl of chowder.

it has 5760 rooms, not 3000. I think it actually looks better than the All-Stars. Each decade has rooms of a different theme. If you look at the pictures on this website, you can see the theme of a 50s room. I believe the view from the inside is much nicer than the current view from the outside; all the theming is on the inside. If you get that view, with palm trees, the characters, and the music from that decade, I think it looks much more appealing. As for hearing cars from the road, disney is usually very good at preventing this. Animal Kingdom Lodge is quite close to a road, but I never heard cars.
