Great pictures of the resort, thanks. Ill be in WDW on Memorial Day weekend and I'll try to take some pics w/ my crappy digital camera (if my dad lets me  ) . Ill try to take pics of new stuff n stuff, so you guys can see whats goin' on in WDW.

My opinion on Pop Century: It looks O.K., but not your average Disney Resort. It doesnt have that Disney-ish flavor to it. I dunno, Ill have to see it myself....

I think considering the extensive theming it's very Disney and I think it's great that they're going to have more value rooms for people who can't afford the expensive ones. Plus kids love brightly colored themes. If you want something less cheesy, shell out more money and you'll get it. It all depends on what you're in the mood for. I don't think they'd spend this much money if there wasn't the demand for it.

Or a differnet option. Stay at Ft. Wilderness. It has some of the lowest priced accomidations in all of WDW (~$30 per night). You would be camping in a tent or a trailer though. However, you get no cheap or tacky decorations. No pop culture "catch phrases". No oversized icons. No acid trip paint job.

You do get buildings themed on par with Frontier Land in the MK. You get boat access to the MK. You get two pools. First class accomidations all the way and a budget price!

Don't forget that you have a walk to a bathhouse if you are in a tent. You also have something there. At FW you have to have your own tent or camper I think.

They also have the Log Cabins... which, I beleive have full bathrooms, and a kitchen... (but I'd double check on those if I were you)

True.

My point is. Inexpensive does not have to go hand in hand with "cheap and tacky"

There are other inexpensive options at WDW that are first class.

Heck, I would not be able to go to WDW as much as I do if it weren't for inexpensive accomidations.

But I know a lot of people don't like to spend their vacation sleeping in a tent or RV. I couldn't do that for a week. Plus renting the RV will cost you the price of staying in a Moderate resort.

while they do have cabins, they also charge hundreds of dollars for you to stay there at night. Given the option of:
1) A/C during the 80º nights of the summer and a roof over my head in Floridian thunderstorms, showers within 20 feet of my bed, and a reasonable bus service
2) no a/c and a nylon tent that cannot block out all the water from a Floridian thunderstorm, a possibly lengthy walk to showers, and an irritating Crockett/Boone/Chip/Dale bus service where everything involves a stop at the TTC

Of course, I'm biased...but I'm also an Eagle Scout and I still prefer a hotel room to a tent

Actually... the new Orange, Yellow, Purple, and Blue (TTC) routes have drastically improved Fort Wilderness's bus service. In addition, direct bus service from the Outpost to Epcot, DAK, & Downtown Disney, and from the Settlement to Disney/MGM Studios, and MK... there's no real need to go to the TTC anymore. :)

FW cabins are just double wide trailers (and they ussually cost as much as a deluxe resort, meaning they are not the economic alternative) but they are very nice for warehousing college kids, they have a trundle bed that will sleep 2, a couch for another person , a set up bunk beds for 2 more, and a queen/full size bed for another 2. They have a full bathroom and a full kitchen too, really can't go wrong. Plus they always have deals for them in annual passholder newsletter
