What passes for "magic" these days is kinda lame. These seem more like an elementary school idea.
Agreed. I dont mind the adittions they're doing, they're just not... magical. Did Disney forget the name of the park? Its MAGIC Kingdom. Alot of the latest enhancements don't have much of a "wow" factor.

As a traditionalist reguarding the Haunted Mansion this photo op if it had gone though, would be a crime against what really the Haunted Mansion means to me and the other tradionalist park goers. Glad to see it was a test though.

With all due respect, I would like to better understand what the HM means to you? I have been going to WDW consistently for over 30 years, and I am not offended by this change. Not sure how one could label it a 'crime'?? Is it a 'crime' that the attraction has a ride system, when Walt specifically wanted the original to be a walk-thru? I am not trying to start anything here, but would like to better understand your thought process.

I am pretty sure that the corny names on the crypts that have been there for at least thirty years took away from any seriousness that you all think should be there.

I just feel adding campy things like a photo op and even the new queue has dampend the spirit of what to me I consider a house with an ominous pressence, mystery, wonder and suspense, and over all a mystical and haunting tone to the what the main ride holds. Even though I've ridden it so many times already and know what to expect, it still makes the hairs on my arm stand straight up when I walk by or see it, especially at night. But now that the exterior of the Haunted Mansion has virtually been turned into a playground, has altered that mood of what I feel that the mansion gives or should I say gave off before Disney Orlando management was too concerned about Little Timmy and Tammy being scared.

I am not sure that I would classify the interactive queue as a playground. In my opinion, is distinctly Disney in its execution. Disney once again changed the game through the introduction of a innovative method to lessen the displeasure associated with waiting in line. I do not believe the intention was to tame down the expectations for frightened children.

In addition, they do not force you to experience it; you can choose to skip it or ignore it. Also, I do not think that its presence takes away from the exterior of the attraction.

Either way, everyone has their own opinion on this topic, and I can definitely appreciate yours. Thanks for the follow up.
