New Park Maps?

Today's MK map does not reflect the new hub, but I'm in the camp that these maps are legit.

What the OP showed is the guide that is distributed to many Florida highway rest stops and nearby offsite hotels. Those guides (officially printed by Disney) never made the MM+ map change and in fact didn't include the Mine Train until late June.

That said, these maps are not in any Disney hotel or park at the moment.

I don't think there is any question that these are legit. The inclusion of the new hub is not surprising since these are used to an extended period of time. The removal of the hat is a little strange. I stayed at the Swan in 2009 so that's probably where I got mine, and maybe where the op's friend got it.

I'm just hoping that these maps get adopted to replace the MM+ maps, especially at the Studios. I'm very spatially aware, generally good at reading maps, and really understand the park's layout, but the MM+ Studios map is one of the most confusing things I've ever seen. I can only imagine how much more confusing it must be fore a first time visitor who doesn't already know what they're looking at!

They've been using this image on the DHS map since it was called the Disney-MGM Studios and before the hat. Disney themselves have been revising the image over the years as new attractions get added, this pics has no Pixar Place and lists the Hunchback, Sounds Dangerous, and the Who Wants to be a Millionaire shows. I looks to me that the Hat image is just a Photoshop layer that was added onto this image of the map, and I think it's possible the OP map in questtion may have just been a printing mistake... although I hope I'm worng and it really is a sign that the Hat's days are numbered

and here's ahoilday version of the map pre-BAH, to show how they just digitally over lay new images on top of the original one

One thing I've noticed, look at how much was listed as "NEW!" on that first map.

If it's as simple as adding and removing a layer, then why would the circle that formed Mickey's "nose" also be taken away in the new version?

I can confirm that that this is one of the brochures along with the Times & Information brochure you used to get at the parking gates, I’ve only found offsite. In hotels, tourist centers and in 2013: every aisle of The Florida Mall. I should know, I’ve stayed offsite since my first trip in’92, and I’ve absolutely loved these Brochures since ’93!

I’ve also been finding them in my local Disney Store in Milwaukee WI since 2007, always nice to find a little Orlando in your hometown! Although, I haven’t seen any new ones since CADCT closed. Has anyone else found these in Disney Stores?

This one must fairly new, as I’ve seen one on ebay with Gold on the cover with FOF inside, around the time the 7DMT opened. I’m a little shocked they put the new hub in already, along with no parade route. We all know MK is keeping their Parades.

I don’t know what to say about the Hat. If the Hat is gone according to that map, it looks a little bare. If DHS does indeed remove the Hat, I would think they would put the flower bed back in that Parades went around before the Hat

Wonder why these aren’t on property? Granted you’re already in WDW, but it does give you a good overview. I can’t remember the last time I saw a Times & Information onsite.(not the Times Guide for all WDW, the actual brochure.)

Someone already mentioned how the backlot's closure was a very last minute choice. It's very strange that the hat has been on everything in promotional material and maps and is suddenly not included.

This is like that bit in Peter Pan when everyone wishes hard for Tinkerbell to come back to life. "Please let the hat be going! Please let the hat be going!"

Exactly, maybe because the maps in the brochure that use pre-MM+ designs are distributed far and wide they made the decision to save the hassle of amending them at a later date. If you think about it, in-park maps are easy to distribute by swapping them out (or by updating MDE) these ones will be found all over the country. The omission of Tangled tower is odd though, maybe they just haven't created a drawing for that area yet? And I think the lack of the BAH can only be a good thing. If they're getting themselves organised for the future by updating the hub, maybe they're getting prepared for the hat to no longer sit at the end of Hollywood BV.

I wonder if the hat being removed came from the recent tour of DHS by Iger and his crew. They may have never seen it in person before;). They walked in the main gate and said "what the heck is that giant eye sore". Then they found out how much they could get from scrapping the metal. Bye, bye BAH:)

Edit: I think it was just Staggs with some imagineering people and not Iger at DHS recently, but my joke still stands.
