Already looks better!! SO MUCH SPACE

Really can't wait for this refreshed entry plaza

I would sure hope they could put some temporary plants in these wide open concrete spaces , looks horrible as it is . Very happy the tombstones are gone but some interim replacement is in order

I take pride in knowing that I probably got the first photos of this (well, first with intent of them being the main focus of the image)

Heck with the one side wide open, they could now easilly take their time on the other after removal and complete all the work. We all know how the tombstones hindered crowd access, so being able to now re-route between sides would be a dream. Only time will tell. Haven't seen enough info to figure it out. Unless of course, they are also re-shaping the center island. Anyone know if it's sides only or full width re-design?

I was at Epcot today this evening and it seems that when they removed the leave a legacy they left the lights to eliminate the monuments in the ground. At night they still turn on making the area seem strange with random lights on throughout a whole section.

It was more exciting to watch the Hat come down. We could see piece by piece and every morning we'd have a new update. It was a fun, memorable time on the boards. Poor Hat. Just in the wrong spot.

#BAHwatch was the best.

But nothing will ever compare to sitting in the Epcot parking lot the first night I moved to Orlando in 2007 and watching them hack away at the wand. ❤

I liked the hand and the wand, if it had just been that I would have been OK with it staying. My deal breaker was the scattering of stars not attached to the wand but, directly attached on SSE. That part just seemed like a cheapening of SSE. I felt that there were so many people that really thought that Epcot was not part of Disney (not to bright, I'll admit) that Mickey's hand holding the wand connected Epcot to WDW for them and sort of gave it a feeling of fun, not just "serious" topics within. That said, I personally don't miss it all that much. The hat to me would have probably been alright near the entrance, but, it was an eyesore where it was and worse, what it was. Just a pin store.
