Hi Pam, Any indications that they will extend this to my vacation time December 10-18?

I hope they offer this again. I did not renew my AP since I am unsure if we can go to WDW this December (high school attendance) - so I won't be able to get the AP discount :(

Please PAM - let me know if you hear anything for December. This is an good deal. Just out our curiosity -what did the moderate go for per adult?

Hi there Gucci, Depends on how many people in the room, number of nights etc. But I can tell you mine was about $1290.00 for just one adult in the Coronado Springs for 7 nights 8 days with room and park passes ( 7 day with hopper feature) Belle

Hey JP, any idea if Disney's gonna offer this package (or any special package) for the rest of October?

:D I had to ask. :D

We (at the reservation center) never have any idea what Marketing will be offering in the future. With the new ticket and package options, over the last year Marketing has come up with alot of different and unique offers, many only availiable with a PIN offer postcard or e-mail. Its not just room discounts anymore!!!!

Ahh, the mega one first eh?

OK, first I'll quote myself with what I said about it from a trip report I did on it:

The tour began at 10 AM. Big group, I think it was 21 people, plus the guide and bus driver. You get a small Mears bus that takes you around to the three parks (EPCOT/MGM/MK). Our tour guide was Bonnie.

I'm sure I'll miss a few things we did here, it was a 7 hour tour.

They start you out with EPCOT. We visited the American Adventure, and went behind the scenes to show you how the show works. Very impressive, then on to Body Wars, we got to see the ride in action from backstage. Let me tell you, most people would think twice about riding BW if they would see how far that platform really moves.

Then on to MGM where we had lunch at Mama Vita's. Nice spread of food. Then we went to the costuming department. Then on to the shops where they make everything. We toured the metal shops, wood shows, painting and fabrications. The area were the make and repair the audio-animatronics, and we even walked through the area were they are putting the new attraction, Mission:Space together. This ride looks like it will be fun!

Then over to MK, where we first saw the 3:00 parade. Then a tour of the Utilidor system. Then we went over to the parade area and saw the parade prep area. Let me tell you, it's un-nerving a bit to see the character "heads" hanging on a wall. I think this is why you have to be over 16 to do this tour.

Then we were taken back to EPCOT and the tour ended. It was after 5:00 PM when we got back, and my feet were killing me. We met a few people on the tour, some that were staying at our resort.

We did this back in 2002. So I'm sure some of the things you do have changed since then. It was a great tour, and one of the best Disney does. But it is a very long one, and it makes for a very long day. My feet were absolutly kill me at the end of it. They should combine the Segway tour with this one.

Looking back, we glad we've done this. I still talk about the information we learned from that tour. And when we first rode Mission:Space, and sat in the cabins, it was really cool to get to see them finished and installed. The last time we saw them was in a long line of unfishined units with wires and cables everywere.

Would I do it a second time? Probebly not. It's so long and tiring. But I wouldn't trade a away the experiance we had for anything. This is one you have to do once in a lifetime if you are interested how Disney "does it".

Their were a few people on the tour that had been sent by their companies just to do this tour. And in talking to them, Disney had special programs lined up for them on other days. I learned that Disney trains alot of people and other companyies in many different industries. Just think about it for a few min.

WDW is a city for the most part. Resorts, parks, transportation, and all the support facilities for it like trash, food, building, repair, clothes, etc. Each one item on it's own is a large industry or company. Now put it all together and run it smoothly everyday while thousands of visitors walk around in the middle of it. It's amazing when you stop and think about it. And many companines want to learn how they do it and take that back to there own companies to improve things.

Any more question, feel free to ask!

I would like to hear more about Hidden Treasures of World Showcase and the unDISCOVERed Future World.

Thanks!

Sure thing.

Hidden Treasures is all about the architecture and design on the World Showcase. The show you things about each country that you would not normally notice. Give you background on how and why Disney and the country involved made the area.

For instance, the Marraco areas tile work was done by artists from Marraco. If I remember correctly, the King of Marroco was involved with the site as well.

It's a very interesting tour, but once you do it, it's not all that interesting to do a second time. Worth it for one tour, but that's it.

Undiscovered is very much like Hidden for the Futureworld area. The how's and why's of what was created. Alot of history lessons on this tour. A bit of behind the sceens too. They take you upstares at Imagination (a place you used to be able to walk around in), and tour the Living Seas private areas.

But alot of it is stuff you could do on your own like the Home of the Future or Test Track's ride line.

We did get a "front of the line" pass for Test Track to use later, and a discount off lunch in China. Like Hidden Treasure, I'd say this is worth seeing once, but I wouldn't do it again a second time.

If you are wondering which ones I would do more than once (and I have) they would be:

Behind the Seeds (it's cheap)
Gardens of the World
Backstage Safari
Around the World at Epcot Segway Tour (we're doing it again in Oct)

And if you are staying on conciege at AKL, you can get access to two wonderful tours, Sunrise Safari and Sunset Safari. We've don Sunrise 3 times now, and just did Sunset last year. One of the best ones Disney offers.

Any more questions, just ask away!

Behind the seads is a walking tour of The Land. They take you through the greenhouses, in the same areas that the boat ride goes, but more indepth info, and you can see the planings and how they grow stuff up close and personal.

If you are into plants (and my wife is) it's a great and inexpensive tour.

Good Information again Raptor Thanks what about the Backstage Safari ?

On this one they take you backstage to see how they take care of the animals. We visited the elephant barn, got to see a giraffi very up close. Saw a few birds up close too, and they took us into a reptile room.

You also walk back into the vet area thats behind the glass windows at the conservation station.

They take you to where they prepair the food as well. Bunny pop anyone?

There is also some class room time (sorta break) where you can get some refreashments, and talk to one of the care takers. We had a reptile guy, and he had a baby alagator with him.

The second time we did this tour they also added a ride on the Safarri ride as well. Don't know if they still do that or not.

It's worth every penny. If you love animals, then you'll enjoy this one. If you want to know more about the zoo half or AK, then this one is a don't miss tour.
