Well. Seems like some nice tech that could be brought over to Reflections Of Earth to plus up that show...
But for what this is, I'm sorry it kinda falls short of the mark here.

If you didn't "Know" the story before hand (IE, die hard fan reading this site) your going to be kinda wondering
what half the show is about.

Like I said, cool tech, just not all that great put together.

Bring it and the drones over to Epcot, give us a real nighttime show!

I will say that no video I have seen so far (even WDWMagic's amazing one) does this show justice. You have to experience it in person. If you still don't like it, fine. But, the videos cannot capture the audio quality, all of the lighting effects, or just the full sensory depth of it. Plus, like the park itself, you have to discover all the little intricacies of the show. I'm thinking you could watch it several times and still catch new items (kind of like a Cirque show).

Personally, I loved it.

I'd argue the opening narration and shadow puppets give us the basics between introducing the two teams of elemental storytellers, the four "Animal Spirits" represented in the floats being introduced in shadow puppets, and that together these animal spirits "become free to dance in the night sky", as they do when they later emerge from the Lantern floats and create "rivers of light" with all the other animals, with the Brother Bear-y visuals again being teased to us as shadow puppets.

The only thing that really goes unexplained are the lotuses, but the way the big one's introduced basically tells us it's another nature spirit like the Animals are.

Ha ha @Lauratron...you're (likely) not a wierdo.

Our immediate family has been to WDW many times the past 15 years, and as our recent trip was winding down last October, we got to talking (over drinks at Jock Lindsey's) about the nighttime shows. We all enjoy them all, but it was an interesting exercise when each of use was challenged to rank them. Not only did we differ in our rankings, but I think my order would change from trip to trip. It was an interesting exercise to think about and discuss.

With everything in life (including attractions at all theme parks), we all have very visceral responses. Despite my analytical personality wanting to find a reason for everything I like or don't, as I get older I just accept both of those without reason. From what I've seen, RoL will just elicit a wonderful feeling in me. The middle part of RoE does the same, as does walking around DAK. Then again, so does riding Peter Pan's Flight. Is it because of the smells, the colours (that's spelled correctly btw :)), the music, memories from when I was younger...? I've learned to not care why I feel what I feel, and just enjoy. But, it's taken many years. This show will appeal to many, but not all. Like everything else at WDW, and everywhere. :)
