Construction appears to be in full swing. Viewing platforms are being constructed along the rim of the river. Large crane structure is positioned in the middle of the river. Previews are beginning to take shape. The show will be a huge hit for the guests.

Who is this newbie that is posting all kinds of news over the last few days?!?!? Thanks for posting!
It's the kind of information anyone visiting the park currently could tell you. It's not news that work on the show has begun, we've known this for quite some time now.

SO excited for this. Moreso than Avatar. Moreso than I was for E:E. This is gonna rock. DAK as a night park will be huge.
It saddens me to say this, but it would be wise to crank any high expectations for the show down as far as you can, I too was hyped for this show, until it was stated how minimal it would actually be. As posted back in June by @whylightbulb the show received some seriously debilitating budget cuts since announced. This was corroborated by @WDW1974 . From the original post, whylightbulb stated that initially (probably back when the concept art was made) Rivers of Light was planned to be similar in scale to World of Color. The concept art even portrayed festive boats with performers. But due to crippling budget slashes it has since been scaled back to what he describes as "a small scale Bellagio fountain show with some water projections" and "not anywhere close in quality to World Of Color or Fantasmic". At this point we don't even known if the new lighting on the Tree of Life will make it in. It wouldn't be the first time for Disney World that an attraction didn't live up to the concept art however (the Mine Train and New Fantasyland being a recent example).

Needless to say, my hopes for this show dropped like a rock after hearing that news from whylightbulb and Spirit. I would not put any faith in what the concept art portrayed, nor claims made by Disney or random new members here. We've been through this scenario too many times to assume that a random new member is on the level when they claim they have inside information and promise amazing things for the parks. Sadly, almost all of them are eventually unmasked as insane Disney fanatics and/or trolls. And in this case we've got multiple people with a solid track record telling us not to expect anything special out of this show. Until I see trustworthy information to the contrary (real trusted people with solid track records), this sounds to me like it's shaping up to be another overhyped disappointment. A small sideshow attraction that would have been a nice little bonus event to have (kind of like the castle projection show), but definitely not the amazing night show that Animal Kingdom desperately needed (and was promised).

Really. Where exactly in the park may I get a review of the new Soarin film that WED posted yesterday?
I was referring to the information on the Rivers of Light.

As for the Soarin film, are you REALLY going to trust some random new user with no proven track record that he actually saw a copy of the new Soarin film? By that measure, are you going to trust every random person on the internet that states they saw the new Star Wars movie and says it's awesome, while providing no actual information to confirm or discredit what they've said? I'm far from the oldest member here by any stretch, but even I have been here for quite a long enough time to know better than to trust every new member who claims to be an insider. The vast vast majority are usually discredited eventually when they finally slip up and post something too specific, but initially they thrive on posting vague information about projects that are many years out from happening. Being vague prevents them from being discredited so easily (people will also often forget what was posted years ago).

This happened with a twitter user a few years ago called ThemeParkOne, a guy who thrived on posting "inside info" that was conveniently vague in nature, or projects so far off into the future that people would forget what he said by the time that date had arrived. He got somewhat of a following, but eventually got too specific and short term with his statements. His statements were easy to discredit and his followers abandoned him (he made some big specific short term predictions for D23, all of which turned out fake except for what was already known). This happens all the time on these forums. And that definitely smells like what is occurring here.

There are only a small few that turn out legit, many of which already established themselves on other forums, or whom are corroborated by other established trusted sources. Some on these forums include WDW1974, marni1971, Lee, raven, tikiman, whylightbulb, PhotoDave219, drew81 etc.

if that happens.. its yet another disappointing in Disney corporate.
they're swimming in money and still prefer to put mediocre additions.
Just confirms the reason why the gloom and doomers are expanding in numbers.

Is this the fountain he was talking about?

They are actually building a large viewing area for something budget cut down to a mediocre fountain show? Cant you see the Bellagio fountain show for free? When are people going to demand something great from WDW Parks again?

Don't believe everything you read here. 7DMT ended up much better than some of our experts led us to believe. I'm sure this new show will be wonderful, even if it could have been better (like Festival of Fantasy).

Exactly my thought. It's entirely possible for the show to have its budget cut but still be quite impressive. Just because something could have been better, doesn't mean it won't be good.

Besides which, pretty much every project -- not just Disney but other companies as well -- gets blue skied as something very detailed and budgets gets set that results in features getting cut. What matters is what is ultimately built and what the quality of that is.
