Rumor New nighttime show at Epcot

Swapping Pocho for Pirates has been considered. At this time it’s not happening but Just so you know there are people who don’t want to leave it in '98.

I believe it. And I know it's a "want" not a "need" right now but I mean, it's been 20 years (I know I'm preaching to the choir and you likely agree). I'm sure there are many who want to truly update it but there are other priorities and they do only get so much money to go around. But they've already toned down the fireworks. Something's gotta be in the cards for entertainment at DHS. They can't really be going into their 30th with a poor fireworks show and a dated 20 year old night show? But I guess they have all the new things opening next year so again, I get why it's not a priority. I'm not sure it should be at this point but when you stagnate for decades ... you're left with what they've been left with.

Again, why should they? It’s still popular enough to run two shows a night.

Indy’s still here for the same reason. And that’s nine years older.

I get it. Doesn't mean I can't still want it :) I don't agree with their viewpoint. They can't have it both ways. And I'll keep asking for both to be updated or replaced. I see nothing wrong with wanting them visually upgraded, even though yes I know it's not "neccessary".

I miss them doing things because they can, not because they have to.

I personally like the fact Pocahontas, an IP that is basically ignored everywhere else, has a prominent role. Seems like Pirates is well-represented elsewhere.

I actually do too, but it doesn't mean I still wouldn't like an update. Again, it's a want. I know it's not a "need" for them. Doesn't mean I can't still want it. LOL.

I didn't realize wanting an updated F! would be a problem. Shouldn't we want the best? Not because it's good enough or because we like it? Why do we keep giving in to them? Haven't many on here derided our F! ? Especially following Disneyland's upgrade last year.

I'd be fine if these shows were like 10 years old, but they aren't.

I'll shut up about it I guess. It's not in the plans and it seems people don't want it.

EDIT: Just frustrated they don't seem to have any plans. LOL. It's not that big of a deal really. No anger directed at anyone. I'm just venting out loud. Frustrated by how management views things. I know Martin and most share my frustration, he's just the messenger. I just don't like it ;)

I’m curious what will happen with Dreamlights by 2021. TDL will likely update/swap out floats again or maybe even replace Dreamlights all together. Perhaps WDW could pick up a few of their older floats similar to what they did with FoF which has floats from Jubilation.
Knowing Tokyo Disneyland, they definitely won't be bringing their Dreamlights floats to WDW. Especially since the parade was mostly made and developed by OLC who also have a Christmas version. Unlike WDW, they keep their parades fresh and in good shape plus they don't reuse old floats from previous parades.
I wouldn't be shocked to see a few floats from HiH show up soon. Not necessarily at WDW, but they weren't all scrapped.
Already announced. Wall-E in the Sky Interim Spectacular sponsored by Monsanto. Educate yourself. We’ve moved on.
I would pay to watch drone Wall-E and Eve fly over world showcase lagoon.

Same with VOLM and BATB I would think.

I've been thinking, is the high pyro cut from AGS because of people in TSL and people that will be in SWL next year? Like too close to the high pyro? it does look like they add low pyro with each film update AGS gets.

Are you hearing some rumors?

Problem is the way Pocahontas shows up. Suddenly.... COLONIALISTS!!!! Wait, what? Why?

There are ways to incorporate her without the sudden inexplicable appearance of her backstory.

Is it possible for daytime parade floats to be converted to nighttime light parade floats? :) Not getting my hopes up or thinking they are coming to WDW. If anything I’d say out west at DL.

Yes, the holiday parades are night parades, but that's not an 'electric' parade.

Also, you need to build to make it look good at night.

Yep. I think you nailed it. I like to try and believe they have a plan in mind but then I remind myself they run things poorly and they're cheap (and they keep proving me right). So it's not a good combination. That's the problem with short-term thinking. They only care about the now, not the later. That's someone else's problem. And now it is. I think there's a vast difference in how execs locally run WDW to how the "big wigs" want it run. They're not spending money now out of the goodness of their hearts. They have to.
If I recall, MSEP was technically borrowed from Anaheim, and Anaheim decided they wanted it back. At least that's what I remember reading somewhere on this board... Could be wrong though...

Another permit was filed today for work in the marina area...

8/10/2018 - Epcot - Balfour Beatty Construction Llc
1650 Avenue of the Stars (Marina) - Improve mooring w/ addtl. data; Grade yard; Install retention wall and fire lane access
So I guess this would be work to improve the backstage storage area for the nighttime show but I don’t see how on earth this could take until 2026. I realize that these dates aren’t often exact but that just seems way over exaggerated. I’m assuming this would be to prep for the new nighttime show I just don’t get the date.
