NEW HOTEL?

Why wouldn't it?

It took them nearly 20 years to add one hotel at DLR, and they can't even get entitlements to construct a parking garage and a pedestrian overpass in Anaheim, so what makes you think they're willing to push for an entire theme park? I'd be shocked if a third park in Anaheim is on Disney's radar.

If Disney starts gobbling up the businesses along Harbor over the next decade or so why wouldn't a 3rd park be in the conversation. Also the Toy Story lot is only permitted as "temporary" parking. It was always assumed Toy Story would be turned into the 3rd park if they could find a way to connect it to the main resort. Now going back to them gobbling up Harbor businesses could make that possible.

To be clear its not out of the realm of possibility given Disney will now try to drive all their business into the new Western Gateway they are building out. Harbor entrance will be less and less important to them.

I suppose that new fancy hotel will either look nice or not depending on the materials and the details. Super modern can easily fail if those aren’t just right.

Hmmm... I wonder if Marvel is going to go all into Bugs Land and Hollywood, without touching the current bus drop off on Harbor... could one day that bus drop off be to location of a fine Victorian hotel!? Every Disney resort has one, except the original!

Here’s hoping!

To be far, it wouldn't have taken so long if they built the DCA expansion correctly back in '01. I don't think a 4th hotel was on Disney's radar in the 00's after their plan to turn Disneyland into a 3 night experience failed. They basically spent a decade ignoring expansion for damage control because they messed up their one shot at transforming a park into a resort.

A lot of people echo of Disney having no plans for third gate is because is no infrastructure of parking for it.
Despite what some people think. I don't think Disney need more more land for parking. They have so much flat parking on Simba and Pinocchio lot, that should have been utilized for parking garage. Sure would create a loss of temporary parking, but it better to think long run of parking.

Willing to bet this will become the most expensive hotel on property. Closer than Disneyland hotel and Paradise Pier. Newer than Grand California, and is able to boast special access to Disneyland, the more popular of the two parks, with it's monorail pad.

I'm assuming the "hotel" monorail pad will still be available to non hotel guests right?

For some reason nobody is talking about the important stuff- like what will this new structure be called? I don't think there should be a name change at all. They should pay homage and call it the Pinocchio structure obviously.

Ask any CM about parking, and they will all say there is way too little of CM parking now, let alone all the new CM's needed for Galaxy Edge, Marvel Land and the 4th Hotel. Even with two new parking structures, they will need much more.

Even after Pumbaa is built for guests, and the Ball and Harbor CM lot gets a structure, you might be able to look at Toy Story, but it has to stay open for years until all the structures are built.

And now we'll be getting parking structures on both. So that'll solve that problem. By the end of the decade most of the guest parking issues will be solved. Which means they can then concentrate on building out for CM parking.

Maybe, maybe not. There are times the Monorail is reserved for only Hotel guests both ways now. With more demand for it, I can easily see it as a Hotel Only perk, and no longer an attraction.

You typed that out at the same time I did. Great minds... lol

Oh really? I didn't know that there are times where it's only reserved for hotel guests now. Is that early in the morning and late at night or something?

I want to slap people at Disney. When they purchase the former RV lot on Ball Road. They had so much chances of turning that into a parking garage for the park employees. I'm still hearing a shortage of parking for park employees. And that just sad.

So then why did they move to expand their hotel stock after the city offered a tax incentive? We wouldn't be talking about the new hotel today had that not happened. With the occupancy rates they've maintained since DCA opened they could have built a 4th hotel years ago.
