New Holiday Items at the Contemporary?

Sending this from my phone before heading to AK. Last night we had dinner at Chef Mickeys and I noticed some Holiday items that I've never seen. (not sure if they are technically new, but I've never seen them.)

The first is a giant Mickey Wreath on the side of the building, outside facing BLT. By day it is pretty ugly, but at night time it's all lit up.

The next item is a Christmas display in honor of Mary Blair for her work on iasw. Nothing too fancy, they Semmelweis sone gingerbread cookies in front of a giant gingerbread tree which is all in front of the giant mural.

That's it to report so far.

The wreath has been up for a week, the Mary Blair gingerbread display for a number of days (I put them both on my website last week). The gingerbread display is nice, though I think it clashes with the mural behind it (and they light it up too harshly at night).

That's not what I meant by new. I know it's been up for several days, buy it's a new offering this year.

I thought the wreath was pretty... :(

The wreath is indeed new and is the largest wreath on WDW property. My wife and I were very fortunate to be backstage at holiday services last year when they were finishing assembly and doing a test of the lights.

I got a cookie!

Those look great. I can't wait to buy one of those little Small World Gingerbread dolls.

I bought one. Wanna guess what they are going for? Try $10. for ONE COOKIE. I bought it (after several drinks at the California Grill). I still don't know why. $10 for a cookie! Are they serious? Drunken people from the Outer Rim are the only people who are going to buy these. Like I said, I have one, but it took a few drinks and it bothered be the whole rest of the trip.

PS: The Chef Mickey cookies are $16.

$10  Are they insane?? It's a COOKIE! I'm not paying $10 for a cookie when I can pay $10 for a box of 4 rice krispie mouse heads instead.

we were at the store at CR and the cast member there was complaining about $16 for a cookie while pimping a rack of $4 fudge.
