Hopefully they don't upset the spirits too much for this to happen.

Looking at some video and photos of the construction (destruction) has me wondering do they really need to alter so much of Magnolia Park? Seems to me they have enough room to accomplish their objectives of enlarging the HM queue and adding the elevator by rearranging the existing outdoor queue and adding the real estate from the old FP station area. They could even take the 1/4 of Magnolia Park closest to HM without really altering the area. Seems like what they re doing to Magnolia Park is overkill. Why does this feel like Big Thunder BBQ when they built GE? Did it REALLY have to go?

My proposition would be to rearrange the outdoor queue, add the elevator, use the old FP station space and take HM off Genie+. Voila, problems solved. They recently added MMRR to Genie + so the same value would still be there. Is there anyone at the company that we can trust to carefully consider all options while respecting the history of the park? Are all options explored/ exhausted? Would a tunnel through the berm and into a small indoor queue/ show-building be impossible? I remember reading a story that if Tony Baxter wasn’t around back in the day Indy may have been located in Tomorrowand.

Big Thunder BBQ didn't need to go. It could have still existed without reducing GE space. They just wanted a grand entrance like Carsland has.

But they certainly didn’t need 3 entrances! Haha.

I think it could turn out ok, I was sad initially but opening up the grandstand and having some extra seating in the park isn’t a bad thing, and it looks like we lose the center fountain but gain a fountain in the new garden wall so it should still feel the same.

Lol ya for sure didn’t need 3 entrances.

I dunno. Definitely won’t feel as chill. Im not happy about it but as long as all the trees stick around I can live with it. The loss of the large planters for more cement will be felt by me. I don’t think this is really necessary for the HM queue. I think they re trying to utilize “dead” space to add more tables for people mobile ordering Tiana’s. I think any land that is purely park and non monetized they view as expendable.

If you click on the tweet, he clarifies that the rumors thing is a tongue-in-cheek reference to people who fly off the handle whenever Disney does a refurb of any kind for Grizzly, claiming it's not long for the world and due to be replaced.

Unfortunately since Elon Musk took over Twitter, you can no longer read Twitter threads without an account.

It’s really sad to lose areas of the park like that - I agree. For me though, opening up the bandstand will be a huge win and I’m really hoping we get a nice train watching area as well!
