Batteries take time to charge, capacitors can charge almost instantly. I believe its a bank of capacitors.
Yes, I agree, it is more likely to be capacitors.

They discourage food/drink on the busses and will likely do the same for the gondolas. I think that is the reason for not putting food carts in the waiting area.If they haven't put coffee/food carts in the bus loading areas already, they aren't going to put them in the gondola loading areas.
Powder coat them.Painting outdoor steel structures that are generally hard to reach is a very bad idea. Anytime I design or approve exterior, exposed structural steel structures it must always be galvanized steel.
#FakeNews.
I thought ALL the gondolas were powered by movement, in that the MORE and higher you cause it to swing on the wire the more power they get!! Rock the boat, people!Hahaha! But how will it be powered???
As someone who used to wrap vehicles for a living...most graphic wraps that go over windows are perforated, with little holes in a set pattern, so the graphic can be seen through. If you look closely around the rear (most often tinted) windows of some car models, you'll see that the black that goes around the window has the same effect, differing only in that it fades to nothing after an inch or so.Has there been any word of audio announcements that aren't safety or operations related? Similar to the voice over on the monorail as you pass through Epcot or make your way around Seven Seas Lagoon. I'm assuming they'll be reserved for loading and unloading messages but I haven't heard anything about any extra fluff while on board.
Also, have we seen any wrapped cabins yet? Last I remember hearing about them was people spotting them being tested with the tarps on but I don't recall seeing any photos of the themed wraps as of yet. Interested to know if @Lift Blog or anyone else has any experience riding in a wrapped cabin and can speak on the visibility through the wraps. I doubt I'm the only one who will be riding this for the view.
Never thought about it until you mentioned that. why didn't they paint them go away green?Just too bad they didn't paint the pole go away green or a nice pastel color when they erected it like the two or three by epcot
Expense, of course, is the only reason. I think only 2 have been painted in total? The most offensive unpainted ones being those in the middle of the Caribbean Beach resort.Never thought about it until you mentioned that. why didn't they paint them go away green?
Definitely cost and maintenance reasons.Never thought about it until you mentioned that. why didn't they paint them go away green?

i wonder what this has to do with the gondolas??Upkeep. Painted surfaces require regular cleaning and refreshes. galvanized surfaces are maintenance free for a very very long time.

these poles are right in front of windows? What do you think holds the cables up?
so, if your riding in the gondola can you see into peoples rooms? There is at least one pole directly in front of rooms at CBR. Tim Tracker posted a pic of one...I believe it was room 5255. If the pole is 30 feet from the room, I'd be really surprised.
