Meh... there are plenty of areas where walkways face obstructions... like the buildings themselves.

It's an eyesore yes.. but no one is losing their "great views"
"Pay no attention to the prominent eyesore in front of you. Instead, just look away at the great view."

It's ugly, but at least it's not blocking a balcony. You can just walk 10 feet in either direction down the walkway to get an unobstructed view.

I keep thinking of a ship's mast from a shipwreck as I look at it, but "go away blue" or similar would probably be better than theming it to a mast. Wonder if bird dropping look better on painted or unpainted towers?

Not sure if I am a big fan of them just dangling on the line when not in use. It will look kinda cluttered about property. Maybe they have to do due to capacity reasons but it surely would look better if they were stored for the night.
Seems like in the dark of night, with the parks closed along with guests eyelids nothing is going to be visible, not if they are there or they aren't there. It must be just a need for some type of neatness on your part. Just imagine that they put them away every night and it will work as well as them needlessly moving them in and out of storage. Dangling on the line, is what gondola's do for a living.

As @Lift Blog pointed out, if they need to load the line in the morning, it will be fully loaded with cars and probably cycle a few times before guests would be let on.
Just a guess here but I would imagine that each gondola would have to be checked in the morning before passengers are allowed to board to see if any need cleaning or to be taken off the line and replaced with spares. But, as far as taking them off the line every night that would be a horrible waste of time and money.

I saw a youtube video the other day of a guy walking between caribbean and the new resort loading stations through CBR and he said that they will paint the poles . I think he said after they run the cables at full load they will do scans on the poles to see if there is any cracking and the paint will get in the way of the test

...and to check for dehydrated remains.

I like that his channel is live a lot, but He’s shown He isn’t the most knowledgeable source on how this system actually operates. He also once stated they would have (I’m estimating here as I don’t remember exact number He gave) 8 maintenance personnel per line for this system. That’s overkill! Again, I like that He’s live a lot, but insiders here have stated numerous times the poles are staying “as is”. So take info with grain of salt...

He was also quoting his source Rob (forgot last name, he's in the rope game) that it will go 17-19 mph. I kept telling him that was wrong, but... his sources were wrong. And his source isn't from within Disney, but the outside who's supposedly knows what Disney is doing.

So, yeah, they're not painting the tower.

But.. those nubs...

Did he look like this guy?

That’s not how you test for cracks... and as the professional engineer behind the designs you don’t build it and then do a check to see if it worked or not.

This claim is beyond ill informed. Besides, this isn’t a new design.

I doubt that's true.

If it was the green poles by epcot would still be galvanized steel.

Plus you don't go to the effort to use galvanized steel if you plan to put other protective coatings on things.

Fun thing happened today in the world of Planet Coaster, gondolas have been added!

Those turn sections look bit weird and too simple but it's not a sim. This is a nice expansion.

I don't think you can do that with a rope.

To add to what others have said, galvanized steel is very difficult to paint. You use galvanized steel for things so you don't have to paint it. If they were going to be painted they would have come from the factory that way like the ones near the international gateway.
