I am assuming that there is also a method in the stations to adjust the tension on the cable.
Whoopee!Looks like testing is set for January.
I just don't see 9 months of work left at the pace they are moving.
It’s always been gondolas moving on all 3 lines by April.9 months of work at what speed of completion is the question??
Why the Apr-Sep gap? Seems like a long time... is it for the Riviera opening (I can’t remember timeframe on that one right now)? Will they start some lines before Sep?It’s always been gondolas moving on all 3 lines by April.
Guests using all 3 lines by September at the latest.
Contingency. Also when they actually start moving it will be a while before guests ride. Testing and training will come first. Why the Apr-Sep gap? Seems like a long time... is it for the Riviera opening (I can’t remember timeframe on that one right now)? Will they start some lines before Sep?
Makes sense... just seems like a long time for training... but what do I know?!Contingency. Also when they actually start moving it will be a while before guests ride. Testing and training will come first.
The part that kinda doesn't make sense to me is what they'll be doing from Jan-Apr if they won't immediately start putting gondolas on the lines.Makes sense... just seems like a long time for training... but what do I know?!
They need to get the survival rate above 90% before they can open it for paying guests.Makes sense... just seems like a long time for training... but what do I know?!

Any plan to run a net under the lines across the water? You just KNOW people will be dropping coins, hats, and what-have-you out of the cabins just to see the splash...
The gondola I’m in charge of opens next week for ski season. Usually all 25 operators have never run a lift before. They arrive on Monday, train in a classroom for two days, practice at the lift for two days, then we open. Basically the same machine as the Skyliner.
@Lift Blog , I know it has been said before, but I am going to say it again. Thank you for providing your insight on the gondolas. If it wasn't for you sharing your knowledge with us, I can only imagine the speculation and debate that we would be having. I hope that once the gondolas go operational, you will stick around. The gondola I’m in charge of opens next week for ski season. Usually all 25 operators have never run a lift before. The innovative transportation system is quickly coming to life! Workers just installed the last support tower at the Resort and are beginning to thread the series of reinforced cables to carry guests in stylish themed gondolas.
