@LiftBlog -- what are the white pulleys on the top crossbar of the towers? I don't see them on videos of other Doppelmayr installations. Could they be part of a lightning protection system? After installation, there's a cable attached that looks similar to the cables on rooftop lightning protection systems.

The white pulley is used to pull a guide rope or cable that is then used to pull the larger cable.

660 pages on people predicting how the first death will happen; melt, spontanously combust, fall to their doom, impale themselves on a connecting beam, get struck by lightning (and in turn, end up in the old west, 1885 to be exact), hyperventilate to death, brow beaten by someone afraid of heights that somehow ended up in their carriage who's freaking out, 16ft tall innocent bystanders walking underneath the cable pathway and getting bonked in the head by a carriage, thus killing them.

Personally, I think this whole thing is pretty cool and am glad to see them spending 4.5 billion dollars on this (my figure might be off a bit, lol).

Any idea what the green reel in the middle of the top piece between the two white pulleys is for? It looks like the reel that I wind my garden hose around.

If there is narration during the trips, any guesses as to who will be doing it? Is it still going to be Tom Kane as heard on the monorail and busses? Or are they going to hire someone else to do it or bring back one of the previous monorail narrators like Joe Hursh (his voice is the best IMO)?
Meh. Hopefully neither. There are better options. Both are on the weaker end of former monorail narrators.

My bet is on a celebrity of some kind. Who it would be I wouldn't even try to guess.

My vote (it is voting day, yes?):
Is that line is either to pull the basket of MickeyD's up to the Pixar birds or is to assist with raising the cable.

It's part lines for all the sensors on the towers, as well as phone line etc. I doubt they will run them underground, because if so they probably would have torn up the parking lots and roadways to run those by now. Probably also not really all that convenient to run them in the water for the two other routes that pass over the water.

Hard to tell from that angle but it attached to the middle top of the tower.

Being a skier, I know that they run power lines between the towers as noted above. It's more direct and easier to do quick repairs for break, etc.
