I would think at least some of the buses could be repurposed as room inventory expands. If that takes too long they could be sold off too, but more likely they would retire and sell off other older buses and use the ones taken off these lines as replacements for them. I think they typically have a shortage of licensed drivers anyway so most of the drivers will hopefully be assigned to other routes.
Or they could be used to expand room inventory. Park a bunch out in a parking lot and put some portable toilet and shower trailers out there and instant themed resort. "Truck Stop Inn"

He is not. He’s generally not bad about overstepping his actual knowledge but he still does quite frequently.. like calling his other video a test run etc :). Whatcha the last few minutes and he puts in his disclaimers about about he doesn’t actually know anything and is just a fan :)
I watched the whole thing. Starting at the 8:40 mark, Rob discusses the “vent screens” and their need for cooling the batteries that will run the “on-board fans, audio/music, and lighting”. He uses the word “definitely” multiple times.

Perhaps I’ve missed it, but this is the first I recall hearing about on-board fans, and for sure he is the the first I've heard say that there will “definitely” be audio, music, announcements, and lighting in the actual gondolas.

His comments about “maybe” adding AC in the future is sure to trigger another 600 pages of debate.

I haven't watched the video yet, but it's too bad he spoke with such certainty. Seems like a real nice guy who genuinely just wants to showcase all that WDW has to offer. Hope he can be more careful in the future.

With no actual inside knowledge.... I expect there to be low voltage systems like audio, led floor lighting, etc in the cabins. For announcements if nothing else. Low voltage is pretty easy challenge to tackle.

But with almost everyone of those you tubers.... you can’t listen to anything they say.

I'm sure.

Here is a picture posted on the 14th (assuming that was when it was taken) by @Clamman73 with the tower removed.

I find it hard to believe they're going to wait another 10 MONTHS to open this thing when most of the infrastructure is already built.

I think @marni1971 has suggested it could be ready for April / May, and be passenger ready within 6 weeks or so.
I’m not sure whether we know if all the cabins are ready yet. Maybe @Lift Blog has info on that.

Edited: Just seen @danlb_2000 s post on the cabins. :)

The fact they’ve announced Fall could be to allow for contingency, or more likely that’s when they want it to open. Riviera is slated for then too. It might be they want to wait until Riviera is completed and ready to open before the gondolas start running. Maybe they just want the Mickey train ride, gondolas, Riviera and then Star Wars all opening one after the other to heighten the impact.

True, but there are exceptions, like this YouTuber..

They are not likely to re-allocate the buses to other routes, unless those routes are currently very overloaded. As @peter11435 said, if they do change the signs it may not be a big enough thing to need a permit, and even if it did, we won't see the permits until well into next year.
In my stay at POP it was always Three MK buses or two AK buses per one
DHS or Epcot. Not going to let two buses stop and switchback sit empty. not going to give it to Disney Spring, ESPN, or water park. Disney is always pushing family to MK than other parks. I think we gonna see lower wait times for buses to MK.
