News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner

It's a 6 minute walk from the station to Centertown, across the island in the middle of the lake (maybe not a good idea during a thunderstorm.) There's an internal shuttle bus which currently runs every 20 minutes; maybe they'll increase the frequency when the Skyliner's running.

Might be less than that. Wasn't there a recent permit with a new walkway over the water to the CBR station?

If they do dump passengers at CBR, it would be nice to offer buses to complete the trip, but again the problem is stealing buses and drivers from other routes.

It also wouldn't be difficult for them to create a walkway between the south end of CBR and the north end of POP/AoA. Chances of it happening are zero, but it would be nice.

There was a permit for a "connector walkway", exactly where it will go is unknown.

Well it is 'gondola connector' so it narrows it down. Gotta figure its from the pedestrian walkway south of Sea Breeze Dr across the water to the 'front' of the CBR station. They don't want people trying to go down the road to get to the station.

Did the permit specifically mention a bridge? Because they could also simply build a sidewalk along Sea Breeze Dr., with the station entrance facing Sea Breeze at the intersection with the new entrance road.

The south end would run into the very active road serving the huge service area for all 3 resorts. But they could easily add lighting and railings to the service road paralleling the gondola line, or pave the area directly under the line, and route Guests there during shutdowns. They just need to add a short walkway at the south end into the Little Mermaid area.

It only says "connector". I they we going over the lake I probably would have had to been shown in the South Florida Water Management District Permit, but the permits did not show that.

I have to catch up on about a month's worth of posts, so apologies if this is old news but I don't think it is. My guess is they're testing clearances and mechanics in the station.

Thanks for the post, this hasn't been posted here yet. Yes, it looks like they are testing clearances.
