What part of "likely" did you not understand?

I wasn't sure if you were referring to it being unlikely due to technical reasons or business reasons. If you didn't know onboard audio or lighting was possible, then you would describe it as unlikely.

I would go 50-50 on there being some sort of electrical system in the cabins, for either lighting or audio. It's not uncommon in non-skiing systems.

I think that has already been confirmed that there will be some offset lighting for night time usage and that might even include a power source for a recorded spiel that might be broadcast like a radio signal near the stations into low voltage speakers. However, most of the conversation about power has been focused on the AC aspect as if an air conditioner attempting to overcome the Florida elements would use up the same amount of power as a few LED light bulbs.

Likely to be no electricity in the gondolas (except during lightning storms), so, no audio announcement within the gondola. It will have to be playing in the station...

Woah, woah, woah! If you're not a Disney Vacation Club member then just sit down, this stop isn't for you. To our Disney Vacation Club members staying at the Riviera... welcome!

¡Basta, basta, basta! Si no eres miembro de Disney Vacation Club, siéntate, esta parada no es para ti. Para nuestros miembros de Disney Vacation Club que se alojen en la Riviera ... ¡bienvenido!
Almost nailed it...

The message would be:

No insider has confirmed it. That falls under "well, surely there must be some lighting!" forgetting that buses shut off all their light at night en route.

I believe Martin confirmed it not long ago. No lighting in the buses is a horrible idea as well. The only benefit is contributes to is to stop the reflection in the windshield that creates a glare that is annoying, but, not unsafe. And there are other simple ways to prevent that, which a number of drivers were amazingly smart enough to figure out. No lighting invites problems but it is especially elevated within a small area. Having been a bus driver I am painfully aware of the folly of no lighting and was shocked when I first rode one of Disney packed full of people, grope buses. The only thing that really is a concern when sorting through all mentioned stupid scenario's listed in this thread.

And like all the other stuff, there are things that we just don't know for sure. Is that one of them? Sure, but, all they do by not simply solving that problem is open themselves up to major problems. It doesn't have to be light bright enough to read a book by, but, just enough so it isn't complete darkness. I don't see any added lighting along the pathway to help illuminate the interiors so I would not surprise me to see some small easily chargeable lighting system on each Gondola. The technology does exists and with the fact that the number of stations they pass through that could be used to recharge the devices a very real and wise thing to have included. AC no way!... safety lighting, well, Disney will get what they deserve if they left it out for the sake of saving money. That could end up being the costliest saving in the history of mankind.

Again the Skyride at Alton Towers has a radio system that picks up a signal from a wire between the cables and plays a spiel as you travel over the valley. I think if there is a pause in operations then it plays a sorry for the delay spiel as well. I think there may also be an intercom panel for emergency use and I would assume they can use the radio system to broadcast to the cabins in the event of an evacuation.

I was just in Hong Kong last week and took the Aerial Tram to the top of Lantau Island... The cabins were not air conditioned and the heat in the area was oppressive...The ride was pleasantly breezy... Though we were climbing to high elevations and over a large waterway, but it made me feel like the temps might be ok... the day we went, the temp was in the upper 90s and about a 99.9% humidity....

Isn't that an amazing trip?! 21 minutes each way with amazing views! I was just there in April, and it was one of my favorite places of the whole "Asia Adventure". I also found the cabins comfortable even with no a/c.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. I have it on good authority that when its hot outside and you get into a gondola, you immediately burst into flames.

LOL... Now of course the one in Hong Kong was over water and then up a maountain...where the air is cooler... running much lower to the ground is not going to give you the cool sea breezes we experienced....But at least it did seem like there was a lot of air in motion....So it might be more like a convection oven...lol
