I heard one from a friend, who has an acquaintance who is an Imagineer (I know, I know...he said she said). The Imagineer referred to it as The Disney Skyliner. Now whether thats the name or just what they referred to it as informally, I guess we will see right?
If they're not going with the obvious choice of Skyway, Skyliner is the best thing I've heard so far.

I think I'd call it "The Notarail."

How about the Monocable?

I liked way back at the beginning when somebody called it the "skyway in the high". :D

Prototype and cross marketing already being tested!

Because everyone is is an engineer and the funny part is these systems have been running for 100 years on ski slopes so I'm sure the people who build them can be out smarted by people on this forum.

Nothing new here at all. All this stuff has been worked out years ago, decades ago. Those of you who think you are smart and going to do load times etc. have probably never actually been to a ski resort. For that matter I doubt 5% of WDW's guest have ever been anywhere near a ski slope. As far as America's the US kind I doubt 1% has ever skied and been on a chair lift or any ski related lift.

Who knows what a Tbar is without looking it up?
You're not far off. Only about 6-7% of Americans participate in winter sports of any kind each year, which includes things like cross-country skiing that would not lead to familiarity with a ski lift. However, a far larger percentage of Americans have seen pictures and video of ski lifts, and thus consider ourselves experts.

"Winter Sports" thats a subjective term based on your location. Some of us live where we see snow once or twice a year for a few hours, but we do have tramways and funiculars all over the place which do not necessitate skiing.

Well I'm no engineer, but I'm pretty sure what Disney is building isn't a ski lift.

Also I looked up T-bar, also pretty sure they're not using that.

Not sure if this is related to this project or not, but yesterday while walking through the International Gateway, there were utility marker flags in the area of the EPCOT gondola station. Flag colors indicate what type of utility they are marking. Red=electrical, yellow=gas (or steam). As you know, these flags are usually placed before digging. Could just be general maintenance, landscaping or prep for a bigger project.

It's very possible this is related to the gondola project.

Utility markers? Pffffttt... There are NO GONDOLAS being built... despite what the filed permits, trusted insiders, and utility markers at International Gateway may say to the contrary.

I also say 'Pffffftt..." when the construction equipment arrives and starts digging holes, moving dirt, etc. :p

Yet there are people here that won't beleive anything until it's built operating for 3 months and they have personally taken a ride on it a minimum of 6 times.
