I have nothing negative to say, except I hope they paint the stainless steel support towers that hold up the cables. The stations look beautiful. The towers are an eyesore.

I am the only one that thinks the narrations are a complete downgrade from the monorail and bus ones?
Science needs to clone Jack Wagner someday.
The narrator of the Monorail and Busses were done by Voice actor Tom Kane who you might know as Proffesor Utonium on The Powerpuff Girls...I agree that his tone is really quiet and I myself would like Joe Hursch back for the 50th..

From what everyone has been saying, they'd have painted them before installing them if they were going to do it. I agree, it's a shame they didn't, but maintaining the paint job on that many towers would just be an unnecessary expense.

So @Magic Feather, what actually was the reason (or reasons) for the investment in the Skyliner? I was thinking about this, and my guess is one of two. The first is for increased security. The second is possibly lessen liability or disorderly conduct due to the alcohol consumed at the Epcot & Hollywood studios?
No and no. But I like this game.
My wild guess is it’s an excuse to hike room rates.
Warmer, but still no

So excited to try these out on our next trip! One of the things I look forward to the most is how the Skyliner should make a midday resort break much easier. No more waiting 15 minutes for a resort bus because you just missed one, another 10 minutes for the bus back. I can't see how it will be that busy in the middle of the day where you'll have much of a wait at all.

This depends on Delays, slowdowns, wheelchair accessable guests, and how backed up the hub will be..

Or in actuality they can remove the car from the line when they notice a spill and clean it. This isnt that difficult of a concept to grasp!

Except they don't do it today with what they already have.

I've gotten on plenty of rides (and the monorail) to find food wrappers or drink bottles left behind by someone. On one of our last trips, I actually exited Spaceship Earth with someone else's water bottle absentmindedly because it was on the floor and didn't realize when picking it up that it wasn't ours...

Fortunately, I did realize before anyone drank from it but my point is that by and large, there doesn't seem to be all that much concern from day-to-day cast to keep on top of this and given the proliferation of it, I'm not ready to blame the attitude of an individual cast member for it, either.

Seriously, when was the last time you saw them glance inside the cabins of the Monorail before boarding it at any station?

I'm pretty sure that's the point he's making - not so much that it's the end of the world but that the breathless attention to cleanliness that some are suggesting cast are going to take with jumping on these to clear stuff out between unboarding and boarding seems very inconsistent with today's TDO.

If

If you watch this video starting at about 40:00, you will see the CBR station where you have to transfer.
Its all flat and open. It may be chaotic if a lot of people there like any busy train station.

Imagine rush hour on the I-4. That's what it'll be like first thing in the morning.

That hub area looks nice....Just hope it won't be too congested down the road..
It looks like it will be a line management nightmare.

I've often seen the CM at unload on the Peoplemover walking the platform with the grabber stick, picking up any trash that happens to be in the cars as they crawl by. I don't see why it wouldn't be the same with the Skyliner, and then taking a cabin out of service (in whatever logistical way they decide on) when there's actual spills that need to be dealt with.

I'm glad to hear you witnessed this. As an ap holder who goes regularly, I've never witnessed it on any attraction or the Monorail but I'm glad someone has. I'm willing to say that your anecdotal evidence cancels out my anecdotal evidence on that.

About a year ago, Reedy Creek firefighters complained in an Orlando newspaper that their crews have not expanded since 1989. They were concerned about the Star Wars growth and the Skyliner when it becomes operational. And do they have enough personnel to respond quickly to emergency situations. Still an issue??

I'll play:

Because they thought SWL was going to be so freakin' popular (and in 3 years, Epcot with the new rides) that they didn't want to deal with overwhelmed parking lots and be forced into building new parking garages.

...and lets not forget the overwhelmed busses they expected...
