New Fast Pass System idea

The silver lining of the effect of COVID on WDW is that it has shown us just how ridiculously better the parks run without Fastpass. Lines are a breeze to wait in once again because they never stop moving. Yes, the parks are very empty as well so that is part of it. But still, I would rather wait in a constantly moving 45 minute line than have to either book in advance to wait in a 15 minute line or wait in the 90 minute line that Fastpass created.

Well I can’t find marni1971 FP post and I searched in advanced search.

I did. I understand that there will be some kind of paid fast pass/max pass system. But what I am also 100% confident in is that resort guests will have some kind of benefit of being able to book in advance. Disney cannot mess with that and they know it. Think getting guests to stay on site now is tough? Try with no incentive. And I know marni1971 agrees with me there.

I would not be 100% confident in any of that. Disney World didn’t have any on-site prebooking advantages for the first 41 years the resort was open, and still don’t at Disneyland. I agree with you that it’s a mistake from a hotel pricing/DVC sales perspective unless they find some other benefit to add, but I can promise you that when Martin (marni1971) shares what he knows, he isn’t guessing.

I think marni1971 agrees that there will be some version of advanced reservation (even if it’s paid). WDW is a completely different beast than DL. And the reason why it didn’t matter for the first 41 years or for Disneyland is because there were 0-3 hotels per resort. WDW alone has 25 right now will have over 30 within the next 4 -5 years. Your argument is very flawed.

WDW has actually reduced the number of hotel rooms on property since FastPass+ was implemented in 2013 (and with it the reservation advantage for on site guests), and what are these 5+ new hotels opening in the next 2 years? Star Wars Hotel, ???

Lay off the gummies dude. Since FP+ Disney has opened: art of animation, Grand Floridian villas, Polynesian villas, copper creek, grand destino and Riviera.

AoA opened pre FP+, Grand Floridian Villas, Poly Villas and CCV all removed hotel rooms from inventory and sold them as Timeshares so they have people locked in for the next 40+ years no matter what they change, they bulldozed more than500 rooms at CSR to build the 550 room Gran Destino Tower, and Rivera is again a DVC resort that the owners are locked into no matter what they change.

Also you are being hostile for no reason and I’m going to report you if you don’t stop.

Not hostile. And report whatever you want. Was just pointing out you were wrong and you just don’t seem to like it. DVC property or not, it is still increased capacity and still gets access to 60 FP window. I might report you for being wrong.

Your info about Disney's FP+ isn't even correct.
You can book 3 per day IN ADVANCE.
After you use them you can get more just one at a time.
I've gotten 12 in a day before.
Besides it's free so nothing is "sold out".
As I recall from another thread you were just at WDW. Which means you were there during the busiest time. Hence why availability would have been limited for the most popular attractions.
You're playing with words there. They do not sell out, but they do max out. It is not an unlimited supply. You are, however, correct about more then three being available per day. Use them up and more that still are available can be given to you. The best way to work that is to get there early, do some walk-on's and have your FP set up for after 10am. and keep them in the morning. Then you will have the time for many more in the afternoon.
