I thinks it weird that the chimneys on the cottage are different brick/stone/ cement and that they are already closing off that service road between the tents and the Little Mermaid building. Also, does anyone know what all that new rock work structure is for between the tents and the LM Building ??

I just took a look at the movie and the chimneys are accurate, one is stone and the other brick.

They aren't closing off the service road, the structure you noticed between the tent and LM building will be an arch with a gate that allows permanent access to the service road.

Wow, their gonna open the land up and it looks half finished still. Half a dumbo, what in the name of god are they doing to the other half still. The one tent is still not finished. The only thong that will be ready looks like half. of dumbo, probably one tent and the barnstormer and train station. Why not just wait till its all completely ready to open it. Just seems kinda tacky doing it like this. Unless they do some disney magic in two weeks and really make it look good. This should be interesting. I'm glad I'm going in september.

I agree that it seems a bit rushed, but spring break is probably dictating that as others have mentioned. As for the original Dumbo, it is likely getting a full refurbishment which is a lot easier to do backstage somewhere. And if reports are correct, we probably won't see either tent open this month.

I noticed that as well, it seems to be there to cover the side of the LM building that you will be able to see. Why they waited until now is anyone's guess. Maybe they needed to finalize the SW perimeter before finishing the rock work on that side?

It's all just a matter of priority, really. The rockwork archway doesn't *have* to be done right away. Sure, it'll look odd while it's still being worked on, but they need to get done with the rockwork around the Mermaid attraction and the Ariel Meet & Greet first so they can finish work on other things involving those areas. The archway could theoretically wait to be worked on for months, if they so needed to.

It'll also be interesting to see what they put up on those new supports between the two tents. In earlier discussions I'd mentioned how this was one point where they'd need extra theming to cover the back corner of the building, then some footers appeared. My guess would be that it'll somehow be themed to the Circus, and not more rockwork. A section of tent, perhaps, suggesting a third tent "behind" the other two.

I'm glad I'm going in Sept also. It does seemed rushed and not very exciting to only have half a dumbo open. I'd rather them wait and have the full ride going. I agree with your post 100%

Here a few shots. It is not as big of an update as I hoped, but we can still see a lot of what's going....
"not as big as I'd hoped" :ROFLOL:

I do agree that it looks a bit ridiculous to open part of of it up so that guests are literally walking through a construction zone. But hey, I'll take half a thong over a whole one any day ;) :zipit:

The construction has ruined the feel of Fantasyland, but it's well worth it. I'm really started to think this expansion is going to be fantastic and a totally immersive and unique experience.
Yep, It's quite a sore sight. These photos are quite revealing though. It appears to be incredibly themed and for some reason this batch of pics lets me visualize the whole thing more than before. It's really starting to come together. Phase 1 is nearly here.

Some of my friends already have rotation shifts for Storybook for next week. All they have to do is take down the green walls near the teacups and they are ready to let the guests in since the red walls are already up!

This is awesome news!!! I really hope to be able to check things out next week!

This picture has me the most excited about SC as I have been since the announcement. IMO Storybook Circus looks like it is going to great and way better than Toon Town ever was.

It looks like it is going to be fantastic but I do worry when we take or trip in August it will be like going into a construction site!

It's getting more expensive to come over from the uk and it will be my DS's first trip and I can't imagine fantasy land with the sound of stihl saws ringing in our ears! As others have been saying it will be worth it in the end and we'll see it in its full glory in 2015!

I was there when construction was going on and although you can't miss the wall, it doesn't really detract from the experience, and you definitly don't hear any of the construction noise over the general noise of the park. By August I would think more of Storybook Circus would be open so you will really only have the one long wall across the back side of Fantasyland.

Does anyone know if you will enter the New Dumbo building through the blue archway or go straight into the Tent from outside and the blue archway will be for people waiting in the queue?

The concept art shows an entrance on the front of the tent between the two spinners which is where I assume you will enter from, then when it is your turn you will go under the blue arms to get on the ride.

OK great pics and thanks. Just amazing.

However I have seen some close-up shots elsewhere on the web that are within the new train station and I have to say I am very pleased. Really hopeful about what they are doing. Nice speakers being added too. They must have plans for some nice BGM. :)
