What an absolute waste of money....... um.....oops....I mean..it is brilliant because Disney thought of it and Disney can do no wrong. They are virtually infallible.

-- Does that make it better Disney loyalists?

You know what's funny?

Waste of money for Disney or waste of money for the consumer who purchases this?

I wonder if the shipping will suck butt like the regular three weeks it takes for normal Disney Store orders. When you can get things from Amazon in 24 hours, nobody wants to wait almost a month for their online order.

Give me a break. The "everything Disney does is crap" crowd is MUCH bigger and more vocal than the "Disney can do no wrong" crowd around here. Those of us with a brain can make a distinction. We like some decisions and products and dislike others.

I've always spent too much on Disney merch/souvenirs and I know will continue to spend on things that I definitely don't need. My family's all-time favorite ride has always been Haunted Mansion and we are excited to see what they will send us! I've considered doing a fun subscription box for a long time and this was perfect. I don't care if you call me a foolish mortal, I AM PUMPED to see what they send! :)

well as crazy as this sounded at first... it sold out in less than 24hrs so I guess you can't blame Disney for doing this

....especially since you know all of that money will go back into the parks :cautious:

Doesn't matter if you think its too pricey, wasteful spending, or not. Its a Disney product and there are thousands of avid collectors out there, and those that will buy stuff on a whim. This was quick and slick marketing, and it apparently worked.
Love it or hate it: Sold out = success.

Parks? The links that someone posted pf photos were from the Disney Store website (unless that was a joke). In that case, The Disney Store is completely separate from Disney Parks.

Common complaint around here - Disney doesn't make unique merchandise for the parks anymore. They sell the same generic crap half of which you can get at WalMart. They like selling high volumes of similar merchandise to maximize profits. I do mostly agree with this complaint.

Now, Disney comes up with a unique idea to sell something on a limited basis for the super fanboy crowd. Some people now complain it's too expensive and Disney isn't making enough money since they are only selling 999 units and only making $200K.

I know that this isn't being sold in the parks, but it is at least an attempt at making something park related that is unique and possibly collectible. Isn't that a step in the right direction? I personally wouldn't have bought this anyway even if it wasn't sold out, but I hope they continue to come up with additional unique items to sell even if they only sell small quantities with somewhat limited profit potential.

But you cannot criticize Disney without the personal attacks being hurled at you.... and the moderators always let THOSE personal attacks go, but when you fight back....forget it.

Are you kidding me? There are no less than a dozen threads with hundreds of pages each full of nothing but Disney haters and their Disney hating fearless leader. Those threads go largely unmoderated and any dissenting opinions are promptly shouted down by the mob.

No no no. Haha. First off that was a joke. (a bad one) If you check out the website where they are advertising this it says it is already unavailable meaning I assuming sold out

And that was EXTREME sarcasm about money they make off this idea wanting people to throw $200 at something you have no idea what it is and that the profits they make would go back into the parks
