on a second thought, I think I will join there blog and post links for people to join Micechat so that they can get REAL Disney information :p

I wouldn't try that if I were you.

Those sites (especially the sadly-overrated MiceAge) are TERRIBLE overall and most of the info they provide turn out to be lies, lies, LIES!!!

And besides, I don't think Disney would allow that.

Unless that statement is dripping with irony, you are more foolish that originally conceived.

"Real Information" and "MiceChat" should never be placed together in the same sentence, for reasons I have stated multiple times before. Only true Sycophants of Lutz (S-Lutz) would ever state such a ridiculous thing.

Ah...if it isn't the pencil pusher

List 5 times Al Lutz has been wrong since Miceage started and I will never disagree with you again.

You are the same clown who said the Iger/Jobs/Disney/Lasseter combo would be nothing but trouble and that they would not be going around building e-tickets everywhere and now 2 years later this combo is proving to be very sucessful in getting the company in line and e-tickets are being greenlit every time I turn around and even the smaller rides (like the c-tickets going into DCA's carsland) will be lavish.

When it comes to Disneyland I don't think I've ever seen him wrong. When it comes to WDW, he's been wrong before. So when dealing with Disney at large and Disneyland info, there's no better place than micechat/miceage. For WDW info, he's hit or miss.

His WDW info is very minimal, and I don't ever remember him actually "breaking news" on WDW like he does routinely for Disneyland. It's easy to read several Al Lutz updates in a row and never once see a mention of WDW, and then when WDW does pop up it's usually just in passing and just as a way to make a point about Disneyland. The guy just doesn't care about WDW, as most Southern Californians don't.

What info has Al Lutz been "wrong" about regarding WDW?

Al has been wrong on many things. From Pressler turning the Mark Twain into a shop ... to the DL Plaza Pavillion becoming a food court ... to DL getting Halloween pyro in 2006 (not 2009) ... to most recently the Pixie attraction coming to both DL and WDW.

And while I can't recall many WDW mistakes (he doesn't exactly write all that much about it), he did have a whopper when he said Pressler was looking to shut down the monorail system around 2000-01.

He has a great track record. But he's improved a lot in the past 5-6 years. He was no better than 50/50 before that.

Boy, there's a lot of fanboi foam to wade thru these days ... there's more to running a company like Disney than theme parks ... and if you think everything is rosey, you need to pay attention. The Studios are a mess and D-I-C-K Cook can't be faulted for much of it because he was doing what Iger asked (focusing on Disney-branded fare, cutting drastically back on annual production etc). ABC is doing well in the early going, but the jury is out. And as fas ar P&R, E-Tix aren't being greenlit nearly like you'd like to suggest. Disney has 11 parks worldwide (soon to be 12 and that doesn't count the Marvel deal in Dubai, which I hope will quietly die, but ya never know). Sure, more things are happening now than a year ago, but that's when no one knew if the economy would ever stop falling ... and just because its plateaued at a level, doesn't mean improvement is on the way ... just that the freefall is over.

I am very high on a lot of things Disney is doing right now (Rich Ross aside), but enough pixie dust, please ... can't breathe!
