New Discounts Are Out Today!

Disney released some new discounts today! These are room only discounts
which can be made into a package if you would like tickets and even the
dining plan.

These discounts are a slight departure from Disney's standard way of doing
things. Some dates and some room categories and resorts have much higher
discounts than others. In addition, you must book by January 22nd to get
the best discounts. After that date, discounts will continue but at a
reduced rate.

If your stay spreads across dates where the discounts change, your rates
will change accordingly per night.

The discounts are from February 21 to June 14, 2012. The discounts range from 5% to 30%.

Some of the dates with the greatest discounts will be February 21-March 8,
April 13-May 24, and May 28-June 14.

Meh. We're going on a Disney cruise 3/17-3/24 and I was looking for a room-only discount for the 16th & 24th - apparently we're going to stay off-site. :cry:

Just called and booked the Wilderness Lodge with the 30% discount!! YIPEE!!!

Question though... When AP rates come out (if they do come out) do you think they will be the same as the general discounts now? I don't really see them offering more than the 30% for the Wilderness Lodge at that time but what do I know...

Thanks! Priced both options out right now and figured out that the Free dining in september (for canadian residents) will save us more money!

September would be less anyway - it's value season. Late February thru mid June covers Peak, Regular and Summer season pricing, all are more costly than Value season rates.

That's not a black out date! It's just that the discounts aren't quite as much for those dates.

That is very hard to say. Sometimes Wilderness Lodge will go higher, but that may be as good as it gets this year. You can switch if it's better though!:)

Booking late April shortly. Is it me or is the room selection considerably smaller than in the past? I can't find a standard room at the Beach or Yacht Club. Probably end up at Boardwalk.

at first glance i was disapointed for about 5 seconds lol ( only 20% off?) then i did the math, called them up and its 200 bucks cheaper for our whole package! In the grand scheme of things compared with the whole price, it doesnt seem like much, but like you said, with the economy still up in the air, anything is better than nothing! that 200 can be put towards our flights, souveniers, or just put back in the piggy bank lol....149 days to go!!!!!

Anyone know if these rooms are usually filled up soon after the discounts come out? This is my first time planning a trip on my own, but I want to wait to book it to be 100% sure that two of our friends are coming with us.
