This is the new costume that was introduced effective today at the Seas. It's cute and a little more refined the previous version. It is tucked in and they no longer have the option to wear shorts. Thoughts?
(Sorry for the poor quality, shot with iPhone.)

Boo to costumes that don't have a shorts option. Not fair to the CMs when their isn't any show reason for pants, like this case.

Yeah, the shorts/pants thing is silly. For most roles, you had to wear black socks with pants, but had to wear white socks with shorts. Why not just allow the white ones all around?

When I was a CP, I worked in the ticket booths at TTC. We had to wear pants in the booth, but when we were deployed to MK for parade audience control, we were allowed to wear shorts. So... when guests could see our legs, we could be wearing shorts, but when they couldn't, we had to be wearing pants.

As a character attendant I have the option to wear shorts or pants. I have made a point to always wear pants. I feel it would be a disservice to our guests to do otherwise. (OMG what are those white things stretching from your shorts to your shoes?!?)

It looks better close up. It's been on a manaquin in the costume deptarment at Epcot for a little over a week now. I like it.

It definitely looks better. As far as a shorts option, there's really only one (maybe two?) position(s) at Seas that requires the CM to be outside, so it probably isn't too big of a deal.

We have the shorts option for guys in Canada, but they are so short on me I never wear them. As for the new Seas costume I like it, saw them in costuming the other day, look a little more Sea Base-ish.

I find them to be more "futuristic" than the previous version. The no shorts bothers me because it can really get hot out there especially during the summer season, but alas, I don't work the seas. Now next costume on the chopping block should be the land, as we are the only remaining costume in Future World Attractions that has a shorts option...
(Not to mention it is hideously outdated)

Just as long as they don't cut shorts from the Grow Unit--that would be very bad.

It looks good. As to the shorts debate, trust me, it's no big deal to wear long pants. you're typically outside for more than an hour, and if you are, then you have a shorts option. If you think about it, most positions at The Seas are indoors, with the exeption of the Greeter and stroller parking.
