The rooms have existed, but not exactly in these names or options, little changes here and there. Most prominent being the addition of MK View.

I bet they're going to charge more now to have MK view over Bay Lake view. What a shame. It looks like my days at the Contemporary are over. :(

When I first started my CP and Shades of Green was housed at the Contemporary, we had 18 different room categories. What a nightmare!

About $50 more.

That's quite ridiculous. I love the Contemporary; it's my favourite hotel, in fact. But it's getting ridiculously priced. It makes me very sad that they keep raising the prices and putting these rooms out of reach of more and more people. How far can it go?

I think that the MK room premium is insane. Why not just stay at a different resort at that point where you don't have to pay for that. Of course it won't be as good, but spending all of that money on a view just seems crazy.

Don't quite a few of the resorts have different rates for different views??
(AKL: "Savanah view"; Boardwalk: "Lake View"; Poly: "Lagoon View";etc., etc.)

Supply and demand. If they can get $50/night more, and they keep a certain capacity, they'll do it. Fiscally, it makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, it hurts everyone who was already breaking the budget by staying in the tower.

Yup. And I think by having people PAY for the MK view, it will cut down on the, "But when I called I requested a MK view!! What do you MEAN there aren't any left??!? They told me they would have a MK view!! I WILL NOT stay in any other room!!" from the irrate dad checking in at 2am. It sucks that it will make the rates go up, but hopefully it will eliminate that.

rooms are priced on demand, not product.....as long as people want hte MK view, WDW will charge a premium for it.

Strategy: Just purchase the cheapest room and ask for an upgrade when you get there. At the Beach Club, we got a free upgrade from standard room w/ parking lot view to a deluxe room with a view of the Boardwalk.

Seriously, though, the view doesn't matter. How much time are you gonna spend at your balcony? Aren't you gonna be out having fun?

In the slow season, it can be a lot of time with early park close. I liked seeing both the Contemporary and MK's christmas trees outside my window as well as fireworks at night from MVMCP and the TTA zooming around Tomorrowland.

I like the MK view, but anything below the 14th floor, and its loud as heck....

Really? I've had no noise problems on the 7th floor. But i'm also usually on the giftshop side of things.

Only noise was the sound of the foghorns for the boats and the train whistle in the morning.
