I dunno...the sappy-ness reminds me of Disney commercials from recent past. I guess there's only so much you can do with a theme park commercial emphasizing family time.
Apple fanboys spend a lot of time on Youtube if the reaction to the Universal commercial is any indication.
The Apple one aired over a month ago. While I doubt Universal started the project knowing about Apple's I do think they decided to press ahead after it aired. So obviously I don't know when either of these commercials were made or how long it even takes to make a commercial. But I imagine that they were made around the same time. So I doubt there was any blatant "Oh hey let's steal Apple's commercial."
But who knows really.
I imagine at that point they had already tested it and put some cash into it. So I guess they thought switching gears didn't make sense. The Apple one aired over a month ago. While I doubt Universal started the project knowing about Apple's I do think they decided to press ahead after it aired.
Not at all unusual, especially when ABC Family is airing the films. NBCUniversal's money looks no different on ABC Family's books.Just saw a commercial for the Diagon Alley expansion at Universal, on of all stations ABC Family.
I was thinking the same thing. I would have taken the phone away from her long before we made it to the pool scene.I dunno...if I took my kid to an expensive vacation, and all she did was text, that phone would wind up at the bottom of the Universal Studios Florida lagoon.
Meanwhile, this is what the Mouse House is cooking up.
It's a cool commercial, they are running it a lot here in NY.Just saw a commercial for the Diagon Alley expansion at Universal, on of all stations ABC Family.
Yes, lame.Lame
After watching Apple's that has been out for a bit, it does feel kinda like a near carbon copy. Good commercial but kinda close to another major commercial just like it. Does look like it kinda ripped it off.
