New Center Stage at Disney's Hollywood Studios

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
This photo shows why the hat had to go. The stage combined with the footprint of the hat just took up way too much room and limited crowd space during shows. It also shows that the stage even if they use the same temporary one they've been using for years isn't as overwhelmingly large as some would make it out to be and you would still have a decent view of the theater.

While nowhere near as imposing as the BAH, that stage is ugly, and cheap looking.

Against the gaudy hat it sort of blended in - tacky on tacky.
Against the beautiful theatre, it's like a giant forehead zit that no amount of makeup can cover.

It is, though hardly a reason to keep the stage around.

How about we demolish the Epcot fountain stage, restore the Fountain of Nations to its original glory, install an unobtrusive 2 foot high platform stage at DHS surrounded by palm trees and flowers, and use the old DHS temporary stage at Epcot for Christmas and NYE?

Problems solved. You're welcome Disney.
too logical for disney sorry.

isnt mickey completely gone now?
No, in fact if anything it is back like originally. Even when the park opened you had to use a little imagination to see it. The only thing that really changed is that when the BAH was there it was where Mickey's nose was. From above, the theater is his mouth, the "new" stage are will be the return of his nose, the planters forming his eyes are still there, the lake is his left ear and the painting on top of the building to the left is his right ear.

You seem to be relatively heavy into the Zit theme today. Anything you would like to talk about?;)

The painting that would have been Mickey's right ear seems to be gone.

i don't think that person is joking… its rare that the walkway from the castle into fantasyland is open due to the show that is constantly on repeat …..
I find it to be open much more frequently now than a couple years back. We walk through there several times each day. For us, it being blocked off is the exception rather than the rule now. It was almost never open after about 9:30 am a few years back. They changed their policy on when it would be closed and then reopened with each castle show.
