New Center Stage at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I'll get a lot of hate for this but the reason why the GMR will be blocked and must be blocked is because Disney does not own the Trademark of TCL Chinese Theater. Sure it is a nice building and facade but there is a reason why it could never be the landmark of the park. The owners of TCL own all the rights to the naming and architecture of the Chinese Theater thus, Disney has to block the theater, again this is not a rumor but indeed factual. This can be read in books published by imagineers.
No hate here, but your statement is just not true. Archtecture built before 1976 is NOT protected by US copyright laws. The Chinese Theater (in Hollywood) opened in 1927, long before architecture became covered by copyright.

I just about to post this. Also, lets use common sense, why would Disney build the Chinese Theater knowing that they would have to block the vie of it at all times?

Constantly-disputed rumor, there. Would you like a consolation prize? ;)

Hopefully the stage will have an oval like look to concide with the largest hidden mickey for his nose again..

I'd guess not. It'll likely have to be closer to the GMR than the old nose-garden, to leave more crowd space in front.

The Hat has been down for weeks now and Disney is taking photo pass pictures in front of it. There's no copyright problem and never has been.

Not to mention that fact that even with the hat there you could still take pictures of it, just from and angle and not straight on. Strange copyright agreement that only restricts the view of the copyrighted image from a certain angle.

Yep you'll get a lot of hate because what you've just written is factually incorrect.

It doesn't need to be blocked because of the ownership. It perhaps restricts Disney's ability to sell things with the image of the theater, but in no way requires that the view of the theater be blocked.

What is interesting to point out is that another theme park has a Chinese Theater..At Parque Warner Madrid has one..

But while not shown as a hub it is close to the main gate as the map shows..

LOOK! A WATER TOWER!

Moving on, due to the positive (or mainly) reaction at the removal of the BAH and all the joyous rapture that was encompassed when the original view was restored, I think the guys at Disney would have to be complete and utter fools to build something as big as the hat to ruin the view again.
I just don't understand how they don't understand that for the whole sight line thing to work down the boulevard, you can't have anything at all in front of the theatre! Even with the construction walls, and they are relatively small, it ruins the scale.
And I can't see them using a retractable stage either, that is, if they do choose to install a stage at; they have trouble keeping everything else with moving parts working most of the time, so they aren't going to add willingly and without the necessity to that list. It'll either be permanent, or they're going for something completely different in that spot.

They'll just pose the stage at a new height every couple of weeks. With the stage lighting occasionally strobing, changing colors, etc...

Disney needs some of these around property, namely at MK, and HS so its possible to actually see whats going on on the stages.

and they retract down into the ground when not actively in use

It's ironic how the screenshot of the video just shows them relaxing outside with no TV. I thought it was a joke at first.

It took me approx. 2 minutes to find the Chinese Theatre on this map... I've found Waldo quicker.

Thank goodness for the hub and spoke design.

Who says it's going to be ugly? I'm expecting a medium height permanent stage with retractable lighting poles.

But really....how is this ANY different than the hat????? Why bother taking the hat down if they are just going to put up an ugly stage??
