New Center Stage at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Ugh.... what is it with this park. DHS or whatever it's called these days has replaced Epcot as my least favorite Disney park -- I didn't think that could ever happen. Now, that my beloved tacky hat has been removed, the turquoise art deco styled building totally upstages the theater and reminds of South Beach, Miami, more than anything else.

I don't mind the stage in front of the castle at MK so if they do something similar at Studios, I'll be fine, even if I do prefer the old view before the Sorcerer's hat went up. However, if that temporary stage is up when I'm down there at the end of April and I don't get to see the view of GMR sans BAH, I will be livid.

Ok, so it sounds like "Center Stage" isn't going to mean an actual stage, but it's the center stage for all of DHS.
Announcements could be, "ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please turn your attention to Off-Center Center Stage Stage stage-right as Olaf takes to the Stage Stage!"
Maybe they'll bring back Off Kilter for a couple of shows per day. The Off Kilter Off-Center Center Stage Stage stage-right as Olaf takes to the Stage Stage.

Starring Aerosmith.

Remember, Cinderella Castle is elevated, so the stage doesn't detract from the castle itself much. Any stage in fron of the Chinese Theatre will at least partially block the building. The park wasn't designed to have a stage in front of the theatre. We will see if they can pull it off without continuing to ruin the view.

As it is in a new park, the band should have a different name. Off Off Kilter takes Off-Center Center Stage Stage from stage-left while Olaf approaches the Off-Center Center Stage Stage from stage-right. At some point in the 8-minute show, Elsa will stage a riot for not being included and will appear at center stage, Off-Center Center Stage Stage. Anna will be heard from off stage Off-Center Center Stage Stage reminding guests to visit the new Center Center Stage Pin Cart after the show. There will then be a slightly off-center but less off-center than Off-Center Center Stage Stage daytime firework burst as the Americans in the audience clap and cheer (we will clap for anything).

Yes, I know, and that is disappointing. With all the empty buildings at DHS, I feel like they could do some of the stage stuff inside. Why take away a great view? Hopefully it's something that's a little bit lower than the one that blocked the hat so at least you get a good view from the end of Hollywood Boulevard.

It is odd. Wouldn't we rather watch a show in the Sounds Dangerous building with a/c? It's so hot on Hollywood Blvd. and when they have a show there, the noise destroys any feeling of 1930s-40s.

I'll get a lot of hate for this but the reason why the GMR will be blocked and must be blocked is because Disney does not own the Trademark of TCL Chinese Theater. Sure it is a nice building and facade but there is a reason why it could never be the landmark of the park. The owners of TCL own all the rights to the naming and architecture of the Chinese Theater thus, Disney has to block the theater, again this is not a rumor but indeed factual. This can be read in books published by imagineers.
No. Just no.

Exactly. Especially during Star Wars Weekends when it's so so hot that you'd rather be inside.

It pretty well accepted now that this is just an urban legend. Do you have a proof of this?
