New castle show Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire to open this summer at the Magic Kingdom

Great news :)

I do hope they remove that big gate in the center of the stage between shows though, looks as if it would block the bottom part of the castle. I also hope, though they don't really fit, they add Winnie the Pooh and friends to the new show as they are not in Festival of Fantasy :( even though FoF is supposed to represent Fantasyland and they are the only characters missing who have their own attraction in Fantasyland.

The Crystal Palace restaurant makes too much money for Pooh to do anything in the hub/in front of the castle.

While I am looking forward to the new show, I'm going to miss Dream Along! And I can't wait to see it for November 2016! Awesome!

It just struck me that by removing Dream Along with Mickey, they will be removing the late Wayne Allwine's voice track as Mickey :( He was by far my favourite Mickey, but whatever..
So what do you want them to do? Keep this stale show for another decade? It's time for something new, it's great that you like the old show, but just keeping it for a voice actor is a little silly.

Where did I say anywhere I wanted the show to stay? I want it gone and have done so for years. It was merely an observation and a showing of respect to a great guy who is disappearing from the parks and will be forgotten about because people don't care about the people behind the characters who dedicate their lives to brining life to them. Wayne died in 2009 and had voiced Mickey since 1977 so he is not just 'some voice actor', he was also married to Russi Taylor, the voice of Minnie Mouse, just so you know.

When do we move on though? Wayne did the voice for 32 years, which was amazing. However Brett is into his 7th year now and he does a great job. Sometimes we just have to let the past be the past.

We can move on and I want nothing more than WDW to move on. As I said, it's just an observation that Wayne will be gone entirely in the next few years and that will be that. An unfortunate consequence of progression. Anyway, back on topic please.

Sooooooo DAWM closes April 2. This new show opens "summer 2016".

Is that typical to have a (at minimum) 2 month "closure" when transitioning to a new show? Or is this more $$$$$$ saving?

Another question is will there be 'construction' boards surrounding what is essentially the front of the castle. is it me or will that kind of ruin things a bit....?

I cannot wait to see what they do with the new show!! I am excited to see the new characters, like Flynn (Maybe he'll start doing meet and greets-I can dream!) I think kids will love it, especially including more current characters. I love my classics, but Disney needs to appeal to the younger crowd too..

Ok and Walt was the original voice, whoop tee do! If you want to enjoy a voice actor's work it's all over the internet, DVD's, Blu-ray, and etc for you to enjoy. I think you just want to throw around the information you know like a know-it-all so you can be pretentious about them closing the show. Just sayin'

All these passive aggressive posts about Frozen, yall need to grow up and just accept that it is the Lion King of 2010's and move on.

Except The Lion King deserved its recognition. It's an animation masterpiece. Frozen is a well-animated film, but it suffers from a weak story filled with plot holes. It did well, yes, but it's really not a very good movie. Tangled was much better.

I honestly believe that the musical parts and the empowering Elsa was actually what drove the movie to be as successful as it was.

I think you are right about this. The sisters/girl power thing really caught on, especially with Idina Menzel's Wicked-esque voice influence, which of course had a similar message.

Also, and I know it seems farfetched, but the winter in which Frozen came out was especially brutal in the northern US that year. This let to lots of folks sharing video of their kids singing "Do you want to build a snowman", etc. and generally fed into the Frozen frenzy. Honestly, I'm not sure the movie would have done as well had it premiered in the summer.

 Again, where have I said anywhere I want the show to stay? No need to be so rude and disrespectful.
