I'm the minority on this thread, but me personally I like the arches. I doubt Disney installed a retractable lift for the towers.

unfortunately I don't think its going to be the new heads. I would be 100% shocked if thy used them for this or even ever came to WDW. A few posts shows off Mickey in his costume for this show with his current head.

The new heads are coming, I'm unsure when they'll debut but I wouldn't be surprised if they used them in this.

Don't be so shocked. The new heads are coming. Me personally, I think the US parks should've debuted them ahead of Shangais opening so they didn't have to play catch up, but Shangai probably has exclusiviety opening rights (joking, because of Soarin').

Shanghai debuted the costumes at first with the old heads then switched.

The old heads were just used in promotions before the park opened. Only the new heads have been used in the park itself.

The heads have always been improved and switched out. Eventually wdw will get different heads. That is a fact. If it's these or other ones.

For the umpteenth time, all Disney resorts worldwide will switch to the new look. Like the princess redesigns, it will roll out gradually. Shanghai got them first for whatever reason. It's possible the new heads may debut at WDW with the new castle show, but that's not known yet and may not happen. Regardless, the new look will be coming to WDW at some point.

I know that you mean that they're always manufacturing heads, but the Shanghai designs are the first real upgrade (aside from the articulated heads) made to Mickey and Minnie since 1988. Those heads have been around longer than some of us here on these forums were born or can even remember. This is part of the reason why the new heads are such a big deal for a lot of fans.

I agree it's a big deal. I'm just saying new heads are inevitable and I disagree with people who say they are staying in Shanghi only.

Still waiting for the Seven Dwarfs to get a new look sometime. Especially since Beast just got a new look which was first seen at DCL recently and will later be seen at WDW And Disneyland pretty soon. They looked like that since between 1981 or 1984
