New castle show Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire to open this summer at the Magic Kingdom

At Disneyland Paris the stage if off to the right hand side, out of the Hub and was built with proper backstage (underground) and infrastructure so they did not have to close off guest areas everytime they do a show... In that way it was nicely planned.
And therein lies the problem. That park has proper outdoor staging area because the park was designed with stage shows in mind. Magic Kingdom on the other hand wasn't. Despite this, the castle stage was more proper initially when the shows weren't as complex and it appeared very much like it does at this moment with only a small staircase in the center as a platform. When Cinderellabration came in 2005, however, the shows became more complex and the stage changed for the tackier. I Don't get why TDO thinks these hub shows are necessary when other resorts either save money by not doing them at all or have the facilities to do it in a more proper fashion like DLP.

TDO probably likes them because they're hugely popular and successfully distract thousands of guests each day in their most crowded park.

Yes, how dare TDO still pay for an elaborate castle stage show that can entertain a large number of guests at a time and are very high quality productions. The four golden arches really detract from the castle that's over a 100 feet tall, how dare they.

Sarcasm a side, I guess people would rather have the massive crowds that watch these shows in line for other rides. You also realize that a few years ago they started opening up the castle walkway between shows. Even when there were less elaborate shows on the stage, they would have to close off the walkway through the castle.

The solution is simple, just have the vehicles out longer, have the street entertainment out longer, and have more characters out longer. If they went back to doing that, they could cut the castle show and Move It, Shake It entirely. Thankfully for the time being, the Main Street vehicles have been running a lot more due to the downtime between castle shows.

I still think it would be more reasonable to build a new stage with a fake mini castle (ala Pirates stage) in Fantasyland. Having all the weight in the center is not a good idea. You want to spread the crowds.

I got my Mickey Monitor today and was analyzing the concept art for this show. Minnies face is missing her lip stick and eye shadow as well as her eyes are closer together (all like the Shangai model) now while these could've been artistic choices from the artists POV, could this mean the new costumes will debut this summer?
