The Mickey Mouse meet and greet in Town Hall has an animatronic head, where he actually talks to the guests.

Cool. Actually I've been to the "Magic Show" meet and greet a few years ago but failed to noticed their eyes or mouths moving. Though that was probably due to my being in a state of confusion: I thought we were waiting in line for an actual magic show featuring Mickey, until we turned the red curtained corner and saw Mickey AND Minnie posing with guests. Was a fun experience, but I was too confused to notice eyes and mouths moving, lol!

Articulated is different then Animatronic, the head in Town Square (to my knowledge is more of a robotic head). The others are just puppetry, and I believe they do use them (articulated) at M&Gs as well?

Ah yes, that's the word. I know the difference, but couldn't remember the actual word so I used what was asked lol.

Photo update as of Saturday, May 21. Continued progress on building the new/refurbished castle stage. The white scrim is scaffolding for ongoing work.

I think the difference is, the programmed heads (aka for rehearsed shows like TV specials and or Stage shows, that require perfect syncing like Festival of the Lion King). And the moving "manual" heads (where the users control the head movement and eye movements with their hand gestures, like the stage shows).

I'm kinda thinking something like this:
Full programmed head = Mickey and Timon. (both seem to still be capable of "manual" movements, see Timon in FTL where he blinks differently every show, but the talking timing is always perfect)
Manual electronic heads (puppeter?) = Stage shows (Fav Five + Chip and Dale).
Programmed head with remote control = Magician Mickey.

but honestly, every M&G I've seen.. they have the "fixed" heads unless you're a VIP and you have media with you.
Example.. Chicharito and other Bundesliga players "meet" Mickey and was televised... it was the manual electronic head version.
