I actually wonder if the heads will be replaced gradually or all at same time (as in resort wide, including the animatronic ones)The new heads are coming, I'm unsure when they'll debut but I wouldn't be surprised if they used them in this.

Just curious, are only the show heads animatronic? Or do they use animatronics for meet and greets?
The Mickey Mouse meet and greet in Town Hall has an animatronic head, where he actually talks to the guests.
Articulated is different then Animatronic, the head in Town Square (to my knowledge is more of a robotic head). The others are just puppetry, and I believe they do use them (articulated) at M&Gs as well?
New? More like refurbished. There's nothing new about it from a design standpoint.Photo update as of Saturday, May 21. Continued progress on building the new castle stage. The white scrim is scaffolding for ongoing work.

I think its a different paint job. Also, the railings haven't been installed yet.Something looks different about those arches though. Still irritating but they look slightly better. And the tower stages have different skin.
Only seen the talking heads on special events, and stage shows.Just curious, are only the show heads animatronic? Or do they use animatronics for meet and greets?
I think the difference is, the programmed heads (aka for rehearsed shows like TV specials and or Stage shows, that require perfect syncing like Festival of the Lion King). And the moving "manual" heads (where the users control the head movement and eye movements with their hand gestures, like the stage shows).Articulated is different then Animatronic, the head in Town Square (to my knowledge is more of a robotic head). Its my imagination or its just a paint job? I mean.. did they rebuild the whole thing to get it exactly the same?Photo update as of Saturday, May 21. Continued progress on building the new/refurbished castle stage. The white scrim is scaffolding for ongoing work.
