One Little Spark...
Lindsay Ellis (Nostalgia Chick) is several levels above any of those guys.
Lindsey is good, excellent reviews. She, however, paid way to much attention in film school, and obviously have given up on being funny.

I still make it a point to watch them all, however.

This is not an Imagineering project. Generated locally in FL.

I take it you have this on good authority.

It's so strange that they would allow guests to see something so substandard.
I am especially confused why they are labeling this a "test", because as far as I can tell, Disney isn't testing any technique, equipment, or setup here that hasn't been done better, elsewhere, years ago.

...unless we're looking at the wrong things. Maybe the whole point of this science fair project is to see how difficult it is for those two cast members following behind the thing to keep guests away from that whipping tail. God knows what sort of weird suits and Living Character Initiative madness WDI might want to unleash on the sidewalks in Pandora, and ops might be eager to show them what will and won't fly in the real world.

Well, it seems someone has cut off Imagineering's balls.

Next we'll see 'cosplay' star wars weekends if the parks can run themselves in this manner.
I'm not sure how to respond to this, so...no comment?

No one remembers this dinosaur's contractually obligated up the road.

Test just means it's something new, and no one wants to stick their neck out. This way it can be pulled quickly and easily if it's not accepted or doesn't live up.

Same Here I really liked it..Mark Dindal's Movie's are hilarious (Cats Don't Dance & Emperors New Groove)
But, what I find interesting is that Disney has Two of the Same character..

The 1943 Version

And the 2005 version

They also made 2 different versions of The Ugly Duckling as a Silly Symphony. The original was in black and white, and the second version was in color. Obviously they had the same basic storyline and length, but other than that they were almost completely different. While strange, it's hardly something new

Doesn't the 501st Legion regularly make appearances in the SWW parades? They're nothing more than a well-organized group of cosplayers

Yeah, apparently the 501 has a very good working relationship with management. When the buyout happened and people were fretting that Disney might sic the lawyers on them and shut them down, I was quick to point out who does the parades for Star Wars Weekends.

To me, this is something that TDO could do in DAK and it would simply elevate the appreciation of the Dinoland area of this park. That being said, the "test" video footage above is laughable.

I tend to think on a grander scale (which is why WDW would never hire me) and this is something that I thought should have been done for some time. Several years back, my wife and I looked into taking the kids to see Walking with the Dinosaurs. They were elaborate, life-size animatronics of various dinosaurs and they were truly impressive as they looked, sounded and moved like we believe the real ones would have appeared. To me, this could be done in several ways. DAK could have smaller ones that move about the park area that can interact with the kids (and adults) to peak their interest in this type of show. This could then lead to appearances by the larger dinosaurs, either in the open, or in another show building. It would definitely help DAK, as it would be another option to help build out the park, and it is performance-based and interactive on both a large and small scale. Dinoland is the weakest part of DAK IMHO and this would help it to stand out more and have a unique experience.

The suits and/or animatronic dinosaurs, however, would have to be worlds better than the video posted above as that is embarrassing. It is amazing to me that TDO would have to "test" people's reactions to moving dinosaurs. Kids - of all ages - love dinosaurs and this should be a no brainer. And I know, I saw the people talking about kids getting scared by the steampunk dragon in the FOF Parade, but I am sorry, I just think that this type of experience is needed in this part of DAK. If people are worried about little ones being scared, then keep the larger dinosaurs in a show type performance.

I just think that this could be a great idea of done right and built upon as Dinoland needs to be improved upon.

I wonder if there's ever been any talk about bringing the "Walking With Dinosaurs" show to Orlando, permanently, either at Disney/Universal or in its own independent venue.

The same people have put together a new "How to Train Your Dragon" show that would be an even better fit for Universal.

Yeah, Barney's at Universal. Wasn't there talk of him going away (thankfully and finally) for something new there, at some point?

Why hasn't Disney jumped on the PBS "Dinosaur Train" characters for the kiddos? I'm sure they'd have better costumes to look at and would seem like something they'd want to tie in with, if they could. It is a Henson produced product. Although doesn't Disney JUST own the Muppets themselves? Sorry, not 100% clear on how much of the Henson stuff Disney owns or doesn't. I'm sure the television productions are entirely separate, but still ... but then that would probably make sense so we don't want that, do we? lol

As this is a test, it might end up something spectacular in the end. It's quite possible they rigged up a temporary setup to gauge mobility and interaction.

I'd also like to point out that when test video of Let the Memories Begin was first posted here most people hated it. When we saw the final product it was quite different and I think most had a change of heart.

I dunno', that projection show is good, but it really only seems like PART of a show to me. I think they need to redo the nighttime shows to be a mix of the pyro of Wishes and the projections of MMY. The obvious issue with that is that they LOVE to run the projection show because it's so cheap to operate, but... I dunno'. I just doesn't do it for me on its own.
Not to mention, a complex, textured castle in the middle of the world's most popular theme park is much harder to project onto convincingly than something smoother and away from so much light polution.

Like most everybody else, I think this is rather odd, and just appears cheap.
However, that's not to say I don't like it. I think there's some potential here for an occasional entertainment feature. I'm not sure if it works as-is though. Perhaps with some tweaking it could work by tying it in to the Chester & Hester (wacky/whimsical) themeing, as opposed to the Dino Institute which we're supposed to believe is a for-real science based facility.
