Two New WDW books on the way...

Just stumbled upon this one...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=1423106733/

"The Art of Walt Disney World" by Jeff Kurtti appears to be the east-coast version of the "Art of Disneyland" book released recently. If so, it would be chock full of imagineering concept art and architectural renderings.

It will be released in January of 2008.

Boy, couldn't say that with a straight face! Any bets on what the REAL release date will be, since we all know there's no chance in hell that it will actually be released on schedule.

My money's on May 2009.

Another one I also noticed...
http://www.amazon.com/Walt-Disney-World-Then-Forever/dp/1423106741/

"Walt Disney World Then, Now, and Forever." Another east coast remake of a west coast favorite. Disneyland version included a ton of photos, documenting changes over the years. Used copies of the west coast version now go for more than a hundred bucks. WDW version due out in March 2008 (yeah, right)!

Thanks for these interesting finds. Although history's against them, I hope these come out on time! It would be nice to make some additions to my Disney library.

Hasn't the release date for these books been changed before? I would love to get copies of these books, but until I see them on the shelf, I won't believe it!!! They've toyed with me too much before!

That's five months closer to my May 2009 prediction. :ROFLOL:

Wait, how do used copies of "Disneyland: Then Now and Forever" go for hundreds of bucks when I saw it for sale at Disneyland for retail price? I guess I should I have bought it then! Are there two different versions out there?

The same thing you speak of happened with "The Art of Disneyland." It was on the after-market for hundreds of $$$, and then it showed up on Amazon again for regular retail. Maybe a second printing (2nd edition, etc?)

That's just bizarre. The ironic thing is that I passed on buying it in DL as I didn't want it to get bent or destroyed in my suitcase, and figured it would be a little cheaper on Amazon. Who knew!

But it looks like a hardcover edition is coming out "next year" so hopefully that will help matters.

Bizarre, but quite a relief for me since I had passed on it the first time I saw it in a store at WDW, then regretted it later and was hoping to get it on the cheap from Alibris.

Ooo new WDW books (is a wdw book fiend). Great! A couple more to add to my collection, once they come out!

Thanks for the info :sohappy:

From what I believe, it`s a park exclusive only. Even Amazon can`t obtain it. Same for Now, Then and Forever.

I really want both of those books. I'll have to see if I can find them anywhere when we go in November.

So I guess I can't honestly say that I was looking for it (Then, Now and Forever) everywhere, but the only place I saw it was at the gift shop on the second floor of the Polynesian after dinner at Ohana's. I hesitated buying it and now I regret it. Anytime I saw books in a store I'd stop and look at all of them. (I have a problem buying books so they look nice on several bookshelves at home.) In the parks, Downtown, I never saw it again. Probably just my stupidity, but...

This book was supposed to be released in parks on September 30th, 2008. Anybody see it?

"Art of WDW" was nowhere to be found over the past seven days (believe me, I looked.). I was able, however, to pick up the "WDW: Then, Now, and Forever" book at Mouse Gear on Saturday. It's a good'un. :D
