She was mistaken. I see availability at Pop for those dates. Let me know if you need help. :)

Do GP disounts general start and end on certain day of the week or it ramdon depending on the month and holidays. Why I ask is I am looking ahead to December 2012 for a Christmas stay and hoping for a room discount similar to what just came out for this year. Would love to plan to check in on the last day of the discount and stay closer or for New Years, but not sure what dates I should book. Both kids will be on college break so dates will be flexable once exams are done.

Hmmm, that's a good question. It's generally dependant on holidays, occupancy levels, etc. In December this year the discounts end on the 23rd, last year they went through the 25th.

This year the discounts don't seem to apply past the eligible dates though. Most dates I've checked that start in the eligible range and end outside it only have the discount for the eligible nights and then the rate goes back up.

How far in advance do AP discounts normally come out? I'm going to try and book a bounceback offer for May 2012, but if an AP discount comes out that is better, I will just cancel and re-book. I just want to know when to start looking.

That is NO good....UGH  I thought if you checked in on a eligible date then the discount was extended for the entire trip. So now they are even making exptions that rule???

They are a little sporadic with this. Here's some examples -

These start in January and came out today the beginning of October. So about 3 months before.

The last set that started October 3 came out August 3rd. Two months before.

The discounts beginning August 14th came out the last day of June. So about 6 weeks before.

It is trending earlier! :)

That's usually true. It's even true for free dining for those same dates. But unfortunately the room discounts aren't pricing out that way.

I'm considering getting an AP next year as I expect my schedule to become far more flexible then it has been. Can someone please give me some idea about what the room discounts are like? For instance, what percent of the year do they cover? Are they usually just the off seasons (is there such a thing anymore? lol!). I see these are 40% by and large. Is that typical for the AP room discounts?

A friend of mine called today to book a room at AS Movies (first choice) or any other value resort, but was told that this discount "Does not apply to Canadians." I've never had a problem booking before during general public discounts, nor have any of my friends. Does anyone know if this is accurate: U.S. citizens only for this one? Thanks.

They cover most of the year. There are dates that are pretty much never covered though, like Christmas. 40% for a Deluxe villa is not too unusual, but there have been times when the general public discount is almost the exact same.

I wouldn't recommend buying an AP just for the room discounts, but if you will use it often enough to make it worth it, the room discounts are a nice bonus. :)

They were misinformed. There are some current Canadian only room discounts but there are no US only discounts. Canadians can book this discount. :)

Thanks for the info, Tammy! I plan on going deluxe for the next trip, and it would be nice to save as much as possible.

You're welcome! :)

I am hoping for some early May discounts to come out soon. Maybe by November something will come out. The wife and I want to go for our anniversay without the kids. It would be a first kidless trip for us.
