The Indian elephant affectionately known as "Big Shot" has been replaced by a newer model that has more movement, specifically with his front legs and torso.
Also, the hippo pool is fuller than it has been in awhile.

When did the switch happen? I really have no idea but I would think something like that couldn't be done overnight...but I've been wrong before lol.

If I'm not mistaken, most of the water-based JC animatronics can be swapped out overnight. Worst case scenario, if they're not there... not too many people are gonna notice.

Well, that settles it, Dec 21st is the end of the world.

That's nice but not even remotely enough. The entire JC is begging for a MAJOR refurb, especially for new AAs but also for some new or changed scenes. I also would like if they would try to get a little back to the roots of the ride which was originally planned as a true-life adventure..not a stand-up comedian show in a boat with corny (though sometimes really funny) jokes.

Rumor is that'll be happening soon enough. The jokes, I imagine, would stay, just with a little more action in the show pieces.

This is good to know. Can't wait to see it when I go in two weeks. I always start off in Adventureland when I go to Magic Kingdom.
