Found an interesting story that a new resort coming in 2009-but this one is for guests with four legs only!

Reads that the dogs/cats are going to be treated pretty well, almost better than at the value resorts we two legged animals have to go to! Hope they don't have bugs in the rooms.:ROFLOL:

The only new thing doingflorida have mentioned are the very nice facilities the pets will have, especially the ice-creams and bedtime stories. Only trouble is my son now wants to take his Goldfish with him. Not a good idea all the way from the Uk!

I actually think this is terrible news. Have any of you ever seen a pet hotel, or more importantly, its patrons? These people are crazies. There are essentially only two types of people that use them 1) crazies that treat their pets as if they are people (not just treat their pets well, but talk to them, etc.), and 2) slightly less crazy people (who are still crazy) but simply have the disposable income to blow on this.

Bottom line: this attracts more crazies to WDW. Is that really what we want?!

Not true..

It is just that they are limited on what they can do...and what you can do.

going back every few hours to check up on them...the plane charge...

these pets will not be large for the most part. mostly so small

Actually, there is another group.

My business partner loves the idea of this hotel. His dog (a miniature greyhound) acts up and manages to hurt himself whenever he is left in someone else's care. So if he wants to vacation, his options are to take the dog, leave someone at home, or leave the dog with someone else and worry about him getting hurt.

The first option is currently out, as you can't have a dog in the room. This restores the first option.

Hey when we go outta town my cat gets a special little cage at the vets with climbing structures, and toys; we have to pay extra but that doesn't make us crazy, it means that we just deeply care about our animals! I doubt I will ever be as bad as my brother whose dog gets a small room with a TV, and a couch at the kennel! I think that is going a bit too far:lol:
But if you think about this could be a good thing because it means we can take our dog or cat with us to WDW and not worry whether or not the pet sitter is feeding it, watering it, etc!

Bring your parrot to Disney's Polly-nesian Resort; your pet cow to Disney's All-Star Moo-vies resort; your slightly feral pets to Disney's Wilder-ness Lodge; bring your female dog to Disney's B... oh, never mind.

Seriously, twenty bucks says someone will show up at the AKL thinking it's the pet hotel.

My pets are always well taken care of by my sister and her children whenever we are out of town. They take my dog for walks and give him attention. They also play with my kitty and feed them well! :)
