Nervous about Star Tour 2 "Upgrades"

And to sum up the argument about episodes 1, 2, and 3...

They are all a HUGE waste of time. 3 was pretty good...but a waste of time. Episode 2 should have been episode 3...ending with the birth of uniformed Vader. Episode 3 should have been Vader and the Empire just destroying and wiping out all of the Jedi.

Instead he wasted so much time on pod racing, and rolling around in fields on Naboo that he only had 2 minutes to kill ALL of the Jedi.

Then Luke in RotJ asks his sister what she remembers about her mother and she goes into this she was very pretty, very sad memory...DUDE SHE DIED 2 MINS AFTER YOU WERE BORN!!! Did he FORGET that part?

The movies 1, 2, and 3 are really not THAT bad...It is just for what they were supposed to be and the stories they were supposed to tell...it was just a mess, a bunch of lies, and a huge waste of time.
Leia never knew who her birth mother was until after Jedi. She had always assumed that Breha Organa was her birth mother as her adoption was kept a secret to avoid her being discovered by the emperor. Leia does not really remember much of Breha Organa because she died when Leia was young and she was raised by Bail Organa's three sisters.

I have never understood why so many people have such a hard time with this. Luke had no clue who is mother was or what happened to her. It is perfectly logical that he thought that Leia's mom might also be his.

Well this thread quickly went from something about Star Tours to "I was born in the 70's or 80's and I hate everything about the prequels."

1. Master Yoda told me that there was a 3rd Death Star built after Return Of The Jedi so the story does make sense.
2. I agree with Master Yoda that Leia always thought the queen was her mother and not her real mother which is why she says in Return Of The Jedi "she was pretty" and this and that.
3. If you don't like the prequels well it's already been done. There here to stay. Why don't people like both?
4. The reason the clone wars started at the end of 2 and ended at the beginning of 3 is because Lucas wanted to make more money by making a cartoon series showcasing the events. It is all about the money people.
5. Debating about Star Wars makes my brain hurts which is why I'm on Team Indy .

And now back on topic. Star Tours was outdated. It's not as unique as it was in the 80's because every park has a simulator. Star Tours 2 may not be appealing to the top star wars fans because of the prequels but it's about the kids here. Disney is for the kids and the kids from this generation grew up on the prequels. They enjoy it more. Let them have this I'm sure the ride will be great. As long as ILM is there, I have faith.

That and it was another opportunity to do another Shadows of the Empire type of event where it's basically a rollout of material along the lines of a movie, but with no movie, seeing as the Tartakovsky Clone Wars cartoon was just a small portion of a multimedia story including video games, comics and novels.

The CG series is basically a follow-up to the miniseries because it was the most popular aspect of the whole campaign and yeah, they wanted more money.

Agree, not a hard one to accept.

Just make sure that your lead lined refrigerator is nearby in case of nuclear attack.:drevil:
hahahah. I laughed so hard at that joke when I heard it.

Just like a lot of Star Wars fans ignore the prequels, some of us Indy fans ignore Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.

Indy can still beat Han Solo in a fight.

Disney is for everyone. And I'm sure the people behind ST 2 are more concerned about finding a way to appeal to both die hards and regular guests than they are to just kids.

Was just thinking....if we are having such a hard time fitting Star Tours into the Star Wars Universe, how does Star Wars Weekends fit into the picture?

I disagree. It makes sense in that it is a Star Wars 'themed' motion simulator, meant to give riders the 'feeling' of flying through space and/or familiar settings in a "Star Wars-esque" environment. No where in the ride's description, queue or feature does it specify "This happens 15 minutes before Luke blew up the first Death Star" or "This happens 1 hour before Lando blows up the second Death Star". Take it for what it is, a ride through familiar territory in a motion simulator.

See, the thing about Star Wars is that they have spent a ridiculous amount of time making sure as much fits into the canon as possible. From the Thrawn trilogy on, they have tried as hard as possible to make sure nothing contradicts anything else. Star Tours craps all over that.
Are there other missteps? Sure. Leia in Dark Empire for one. All the visions of Anakin Solo leading the Jedi far into the future is another. But mostly, anything in the post OT EU fits together.

You will also remember at the end of episode III, Obi-one ( I apologize if the spellings of the names offends anyone if they are incorrect) is told by Yoda that he is going to have him work on being able to communicate with those that have passed on before......

Since the force is strong with her as well, is it possible that she has had some communication with her mother (all be it, possibly communication she does not understand....i.e., that possibly appears to her as dreams or memories) that would allow her to make that statement?

Leia doesn't use her force abilities until much, much later in life.

I don't. I liked Crystal Skull. If it is somehow plausible for Indy to parachute out of a plane with an inflatable raft, fix his dad's gun shot wound with water from a magic cup, and avoid being melted by evil spirits by not looking at them, then I am just fine with the whole nuke the fridge thing. Some people have forgotten that movies are supposed to be fun.

I've never seen the prequels, I probably should, but I think the original movies are amazing. For Star Tours, before that new preshow video from a few days ago, I was worried it would be transformed into the pod race. I hate that idea. Now that I've seen the new video, I'm relieved. I love the queue as it is, besides needing a new screen and some other technology, I think it's pretty amazing as is. So many details to look at.

I'm hoping we have at least one of the adventures be similar to the current one, I mean, how could it be related to "Star Wars" without flying in space ships through space and blowing up the death star?!

I don't care if it's canon, just give me an fun adventure! :p

I enjoyed Crystal Skull too.

The people I know actually had more of a problem with the aliens then the fridge.

Indy has always felt like a B movie.

I do enjoy the original ST, unfortunately it's so outdated. As long they don't add Jar-Jar Binks I'm okay with it.

Lol, same here. I'm not paricularly fond of the Star Wars movies (the prequels moreso than the originals) and I think that Jar-Jar Binks is the reason. Just from watching random clips...he annoys me.
