Nemo Musical first show review

Aladdin at DCA runs roughly 45 minutes (depending on the Genie's stand-up jokes) so I can't see how Nemo's running time would be an issue.

Nemo is geared towards a younger demographic. Kids have a hard time sitting through anything longer then 35ish. Disney World's management see it as a problem. Aladdin's management thinks in a different way it seems.

Also, for AK, which only stays open to 5/6pm most days, having it be a 45 minute show would mean less shows and less guests seeing the show. The show is very physical and it would also mean less shows because the union that reps the talent would not allow as many because of the phycial challenge.

Blizz, they developed this show specificly to bring a broadway style show to WDW. That means a longer show.

This is Anne Hamburgers signature. She's the one who gave the schmaltzy talk during the first Nemo "Big Blue World" workshop video everyone remembers. She's in charge.

She's been in theater for a loooooooong time. (She did productions of Little House on the Praire using a goat in a crib as the youngest daughter).

So unless you very specificly want to give a source, I don't have any reason to believe you other then the fact that you're arguing because you want to be right.

Casino's get Broadway tours all the time, but they cut the length because no one wants to sit for 2-3 hours in a Casino and watch. Same thing goes for theme parks, the thinking being that no one is going to a theme park to sit in the same place for a long amount of time. Guests already snicker at cast memebers who tell them that the wait for something is 10 minutes. They act like they are loosing a loved one. A 5 minute difference is a big deal when you have a toddler who doesnt want to sit through even 25 minutes.

Ok, well most kids sit more than 25 minutes daily in school, our kids sit for an hour every Sunday in church, then Sunday school time added on. I was personally glad to see the last of Tarzan and am looking forward to seeing Nemo. What is the official start date?
Ok, I know I'm going to get slammed on this one, but it would keep me (& our group) in AK longer, we don't usually do it as an all day park. What is the length of the current longest attraction/show? Is it getting consistent attendance? If so, then possibly Nemo could handle being 45 minutes.

The Universe of Energy is 45 minutes long with a 8 min pre-show and 37 min ride. (You're only actually on the ride itself for about 30mins though, the rest is taken up with load/unload).

Is it just still photos that aren't allowed? Would we be able to videotape the show?

i believe there's a no taping/photography of the show because it's currently in previews. correct me if i'm wrong but i think the ban will be lifted once it's officially open.

Impatient...

We were at the 12:30 show today and it ran just over 30 minutes, ending at about 1:05pm after starting a bit late (and that included the introduction).
I was a bit upset over the clappers who where being impatient to see a new show...a show they were lucky to have a chance to see to begin with.
They will start the show when they are ready to start the show, be patient, appreciate the fact that you are seeing the show a month before the AP previews!!! This is (one of) their 1st show, be patient!
(Geez, they even started clapping before 12:30)
Having seen that there was already a 10am show, I was a bit confused when the hostess announced that this (the 12:30 show) was the special 1st show in front of a live audience...???

I don't really see why a slightly longer show would cause such a ruckus?

Ice Shows run almost 3 hours...

YAY :D I'm sooo excited you all are enjoying the show after all the speculation! I can't wait to see it especially since my friend is playing the barracuda, Nigel, Ted's dad and a few other random creatures. I think I may have to take a day trip to AK next weekend to go see the show.
I can't wait to hear Dory's just keep swimming song! Did they make the passing of the story of Marlin's adventures into a song or just a transition from one song to the next? Is it dark enough for someone to sneak in a camera and take pictures without flash and maybe some videos?:drevil: Or do I have to wait a little longer to just see it in person? (I know its a legal issue) Did anyone notice if they were using the same cast of people for both shows today or did they use two?
I know I asked a lot of questions but I'm just really curious :sohappy:

Congratulations to all the actors in the show! Keep up all your hard work!

The photography ban during the show will remain in place after the offical opening. It's in the recording before the show. It includes both Video and Still cameras, and espically flash photos.

The story telling of Marlin's adventure is done in dialog, not song and is very very funny. I wouldn't bring a camera in myself, but I guess it would depend on where you sit. And finally how does your friend play the baracuda it was a projection? Kudos on the work doing Nigel though, that puppet is incredable
